I have been trying to get an MP 2 client to connect to my new server for 2 weeks now. I have Windows 10 pc installed as a server/client so I can use the server pc connected to my tv as well. The server works fine and I can view tv etc but the other Win 10 mchine which I have installed client only on keeps saying there is no server on my network. I have tested connectivity from the run command and it is fine and I can get to the database folder on the server from client.

In the client copy of the software I have no separate configuration icon on the desktop. I only have the option to open Media Portal and go to settings, in here it always states that no server is attached and if I click on search for server it always finds nothing. I have tried with firewall off on both machines and still the same. I would be grateful for any help as the wiki has no troubleshooting instructions.

Thanks

Please use the Log Collector to zip the client logs where you tried to search the server and post the file here.

    Hi.
Please check the UPnP settings in your network environment. MP2 is communicating via UPnP. If a client can't see a server it most likely is due to network and/or UPnP issues...

All three logs show a single-seat setup. Are we talking about one PC only, which is hosting both server and client?

    Ther are also messages like
[WARN ] - FilterNetworkAddresses: The defined IP address filter contains the address '192.168.1.68' that is not available. Please check your IP configuration for changed addresses to avoid network accessing issues.
So your network setup is definitely having issues, or addresses are just not valid.

While the above client message is dated July 9, the attached server logs are from June 24. I can't see any logs from an active server, which I assume would be on a different machine, correct?

Your deactivated IPv6 on your client:
    [2016-07-09 12:26:04,833] [1313 ] [Main ] [INFO ] - UPnP server: IPv6 protocol disabled, so no HTTP listener started for IPv6
Did you also do this on the server PC? This is just a wild guess: I don't know how the system behaves if IPV6 is active on the server but other network members don't work on IPv6.

Hi, thanks for looking at this. The logs I sent you are from the client PC. Do you need the logs from the server as well? When I installed the server I selected the option to install the server/client on the same PC as I want to use the client on the server to display on my lounge room tv and have two separate clients for other rooms. The server is 192.168.1.68 but I have just realised that it may have shutdown when I did the log on the client.

I will fire up the server and do the logs again.
    Thanks
