MP2 TV Recording results in multiple .ts files (1 Viewer)

I have recently upgraded to MP2 and had relatively little trouble doing this. I have found however that when recording a film, MP2 creates many .ts files in the recording folder. These files for one program recorded can number up to 20 odd .ts files names <program_name>_1.ts, <program_name>_2.ts etc.

The files are around 40MB each. I am running windows 8.1.

I have done a search of the forums and cannot find anything which relates to this.

Can anyone assist ?

Cheers

    Hello and welcome :)

What you've described is not normal.
Are you using the slim TV native provider (TVE 3.5), or MPExtended with MP1's TV Server (TVE 3)?

    Regards,
    mm

I installed MPExtended, but I do not think that I need this as I only record from the PC, which also acts as the server as well as the client.
I am not too technical and my experience with this system is limited, so any assistance is welcome !

If you're not using the slim TV native provider (which it sounds like you're not) then you need MPExtended, regardless of whether the server and client run on the same PC.

Could you please post the logs from the server:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left corner.
    3. Zip all the files in that directory.
    4. Post/attach the zip file here.

Hi, the log directory was setup within MyDocuments, but a search of this directory produced the attached.

Hmmm, that wasn't what I was looking for. I'm after "TVService.log", "TsWriter... .log" etc.

Sorry, still not what I'm looking for. Those are the MediaPortal logs; I'm interested in the TV Server logs.
Are the instructions I provided not working for you or something?

    MM,
The button for Logs in TV Configure for MP2 has not worked in some time.
Always takes me to My Documents.

You're using native TV (TVE 3.5) though, whereas LozTom seems to be using MPExtended + TVE 3. The button should work with TVE 3.
