MP3 and Slideshow at the same time -> overload? (1 Viewer)

My System:

P4 processor 530 with HT technology (3.00GHz, 800fsb, 1MB cache)7
1024MB DDR400 Dual Channel Memory (2x512)9
160GB SATA (7200rpm) Hard Drive
16x max. DVD+/-RW & 16x DVD
128MB ATI Radeonz X300 SE
Pinacle PCTV sat card (I use MyTheatre for TV)

My Problem:
Whenever I hear MP3 music and go to MyPictures while music is playing on, Slideshows and everything becomes slow. Especially the changing between photos (fade in fade out) isnt' smooth anymore. CPU load is at 10-20%, just for short times up to 50%. Nothing changes whether I use Winamp, Mediaplayer or directsource.

My Question:
Is this a common problem?
When no: Is this a problem of my graphic card?? I think this is the weakest part of my system?
What grafic card is a good compromise between costs and power for a httpc?

Thanks for your help.

Video Card Model: Radeon X300/x550 Series (128 MB)
Video Card Driver: -

Audio Card Model: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
Audio Card Driver: -
Synopsis:: -

One interesting thing I forgot to mention:
When I first start playing the MP3s using the original MediaPlayer (9)
And then start MediaPoral and go straight to MyPictures (music is playing)
everything works fine. So there are only problems when I use the built-in MP3 player of MediaPoral.

Thanks for your help.
