Are there plans to support other video renderers?

MadVR got added a while ago, but this a 'hardcoded' selection in the configuration. It seems it's not possible to select any other renderer that is installed on the system, through a drop down list, like we can with codecs. I'm looking forward to try out the MPC Video Renderer with Mediaportal.

Yes, I second adding support for MPC Video Renderer.

MPC-VR might not be as precise as MadVR, but it runs smoother on lower end hardware and also supports Dolby Vision which MadVR doesn't
It also has more active development with updates every month or so, whereas madVR hasn't seen any updates for years, just the occasional beta update that is time limited

In case people aren't aware of it, you can find it here

MadVR is unstable for me. FSE comes and goes. HDR passthrough doesn't always work. I've tried all release and beta versions. :(
MPC-VR is great and I'd love an option to be able to natively use it.
In the mean time, is there a way to use it with MP1 using an external player?

According to the info MPC-VR can be fully implemented with MPC-BE which can be set up as the default, video and other categories, player see atached screen shot. I use MPC-BE for some things but I have set it to use Madvr.;)

How to connect it to Media Portal?

I have no idea how MP uses madVR, but the installation is exatly the same. The both install with a batch file to run regsvr32
MadVR registers madVR64.ax while MPCVR registers MpcVideoRenderer64.ax (or x32 or both)

I use it with MPC-HC, simply selecting the directshow video renderer as MPC Video Renderer, where madVR and EVR etc are other valid options

Externally, without knowing any programming at all, it just seems to plug in, so whatever changes were made to Mediaportal ages ago to add madVR, I would hope it would not be that much different to add MPCVR
