Perhaps my plug-in is not replacing bad characters in the URL. Could you give me an example search and a NZB to download. I will get it to work and release a fix. Probably that damn single quote that I forgot to replace, I will wait for your response on this one.

I'ts not specifically bad characters. Sometimes the filename given to it by releasers isn't handled correctly by tvseries. For instance when downloading a south park episode like this one using the last hit on this results page, it would name the .nzb 'aaf-south-park.nzb' when using 'maak nzb' instead of downloading it manually (i suppose this is what mpnzb does internally). This .nzb filename becomes the folder name 'aaf-south-park.nzb' after parring/rarring and which is not recognized by tvseries. I know i can add a filter for files starting with 'aaf-' to tvseries which would fix this particular problem, but a possibility to manually enter the .nzb filename (thus extraction folder) from within mpnzb would be a generic fix for all these kind of situations.

It would be SABnzbd doing the folder naming, all mpNZB is doing is passing the URL that is in the RSS feed to SABnzbd by means of the addurl API. I think you can setup TV naming rules inside SABnzbd.

In the future I may allow naming but seeing as how I don't download the NZB that would be hard, I would need to start downloading the NZB and saving it to a temporary folder or perhaps a monitored folder which would also make me compatible with some other Usenet clients.

MrTRiX: hah wasn't scolding you from the age of this thread it seems you've made lots of progress, by no means are you 'slacking' on volunteering your time to make something for lots of other people for nothing.

Was just mentioning a feature that would be helpful in the future, since downloading an episode of something in french is just a bummer, esp if it was a half hour wait for a movie (and you don't know french). Also kind of personal too, since with your plugin i now never need a mouse/keyboard attached to my media center, since its the server too. But i usually do need to have a computer handy, so i can ask the girlfriend : "Is the 3.55GB one in english?"

And wouldn't be toooooo search specific (i realize it is by definition) in that its fairly common for nzb tools to have extra features for newzbin (see hellanzb, sabnzbd, sites that reference newzbinIDs etc) because its prettymuch the google of newzbin search.

Also realize you are very busy with this - and presumably a life that doesn't involve this forum - so thought i'd offer to contribute by making that rss reader part for you, as my last final is this friday. But definitely not condemning your effort/work for missing this single feature. if i haven't already said so, thanks for the great plugin.

Not sure if I came across as offended in one of my posts but I was not. I value all input, and thought your comment was helpful and accurate.

I didn't see where you mentioned the RSS reader stuff but my plug-in already reads RSS fine I think.

The real problem is that Sites.xml does not require login for newzbin so we get the RSS feed that does not include things like Language/Video Format/etc. Those only shows up when you sign-in to Newzbin. So once I create that I can easily make something that will show that information. I will work on it this weekend if I'm still not sick (Had flu for last few weeks). I will make it optional for Newzbin so people who don't know to enter that stuff into Sites.xml can still see the feeds and people who know better can see the extra information.

I have downloaded 3-4 movies with the wrong language as well and am eager to fix this issue.

yep sorry thats what i had meant -- looked at your RSS reader and obviously tried/used it and works fine, was just talking about adding the parsing of vid format/language etc, which yeah wouldn't be tough once you asked for pass in config, as you said. Anyway i think i fried my powersupply on my mc so guess its time to go buy a new one and hope the drives aren't done too.

I haven't had a lot of time to update it lately. I am working on adding username/password information to Sites.xml so that you can log into sites. Once that works I will be able to add more information to Newzbin and also NZBMatrix will work then.

With the new beta API from NZBMatrix you actually could add that support inside Sites.xml. I don't have a VIP account so I don't know exactly how it works but I think it creates a special RSS feed with an APIKey and your username. You could put that URL into the <feed></feed> section of my Sites.xml. If someone could even give me there username/apikey I could use it as a template to add custom entries to Sites.xml excluding the username/apikey so you provide your own. Here is the feed generator.

Fair enough. All I meant by "newzbin centered" was that the plugin will provide a lot of additional useful features if you have newzbin access. This was not meant as a complaint, just an observation. A little frustrating for those of us who are unable to get our hands on an invite, but clearly no fault of yours.

Off-Topic : I don't understand how it makes sense for a pay site to operate on an invite only basis. I'm willing to pay for their service, so why won't they take my money????

I agree I had to get an invite/pay before I could code for Newzbin and I only get the ability to invite after being a member for a while. I have 5 invites at the moment, PM me if you guys want one.

Also I created a template for NZBMatrix. Give it a try in Sites.xml and tell me how it goes. I am at work and haven't tested it yet, tell me if Size is not being displayed or if its not working at all. You just add this code to Sites.xml then replace [USER] and [API] in every URL using a Search&Replace.

The reason I can add NZBMatrix now is they finally made it possible to have download links in the RSS feeds instead of a details page that requires login. I may redo my code in the future so that you just put your information in and it replaces it for you. Like this:

That or maybe put it in the MP config area but I really like XML stuff.
