Haha, well I can't compare Myth to MP cause I never used Myth. With plug-ins like Moving Pictures, My Trailers, MP-TVSeries and my plug-in, MP does everything I could want in a HTPC.

If you decide to stick with Myth I have no problem with you using any of my code for anything. Good luck.

Release 1.07:

I found out SABnzbd had an RSS output for its history so I added it to the plug-in. You can now see everything you have downloaded and check if its complete/waiting/verifying/extracting. I also removed sorting for queue/history items because it didn't make sense. I have updated all the skins to have the History button.

I would wait longer to release this seeing as how 1.06 came out yesterday, but this history thing is kinda cool I thought and it was requested early on but I was waiting for SABnzbd 0.50.

Fixes

* Remove sorting if not download item

Additions

* Added more feeds to NZBs in Sites_Custom
* SABnzbd History View
* Subtitles added to Newzbin information
* MyTvNZB has same information as TvNZB now

If anyone has any new feature ideas please post them, no matter how crazy they are. I'm kinda out of things to add at the moment. I guess that's a good thing but I want this plug-in to keep progressing if possible. I'd like to get to the point were if Usenet was more popular that this plug-in would be as popular as Moving Pictures, MP-TVSeries or My Trailers. Usenet is still unheard of to a lot of people so it probably will never happen but if we can make this the best Usenet plug-in for any HTPC software, then I can be happy.

To the best of my knowledge, it already is, so you should be quite happy.

The only things I still used my PC interface to sabnzbd for on a regular basis was nzbmatrix searching and browsing the history. Both of these have been resolved in the past few days.:D

My only remaining prob with my setup is that occasionaly sabnzbd goes bonkers and starts using masses of memory. This slows my system down to a crawl and I am forced to kill it from the task manager. I've searched, but not come across anyone with a similar problem. So I am reduced to hoping that it will be resolved in a future release. Not that that has anything to do with you plugin.

:D again.

I will look into it. There is a few issues with doing that which could cause performance issues. I will add it to my ToDo.

Thanks. I hope everyone likes the History view. Not sure about your SABnzbd issue, that hasn't happened to me at all. Hopefully 0.50 fixes those issues.

I will look into that, its great to get bug reports like this because I would never have thought to use a # or other symbol in my password.
If anyone else is embarrassed to post because they are having trouble getting it working you can PM me and I can help you out through there.
UPDATE: After looking into this problem. It appears to be a SABnzbd issue related to using "ma_password" in the URL. This is how the API works with SABnzbd so I can't do much about this.

Thanks for looking into it. Not a big deal except it was keeping me from getting it working which was unbelievably frustrating.

Manual

I created a manual that goes through every aspect of this plugin. If anyone had unanswered questions perhaps this will help.

Also as far as feature ideas goes. Would anyone like IMDb coverart/information for the Newzbin feeds? I also may be able to do tv if I can parse TVRage.com. But if nobody cares its not worth my time. Also I am not sure where to display this. Any ideas on that?

I don't know if you read my update but it looks to be a SABnzbd issue so I can't do much about it.

I love the history view, very well done!

I had one quick suggestion, when you click on a feed and the list comes up and you click on a new nzb to download it a screen comes up asking you if you want to download it yes/no. One feature that would be nice is to disable the confirmation (possibly as an optional setting in the config file). I say this because you don't really get any extra info by clicking on the actual file, so I assume that most people who click on a file wish to download it. IIRC the default is no right now, and you may want to consider it being yes because otherwise why would we be click on it. Mind you this is just a tiny thing in an amazing program but since you interested in feedback I figured I would throw in my 2 cents.

One other thing I noticed too is that nzbmatrix doesn't display its tv results the same as it does on its (non-rss portion) website. I suspect this is because of how it does it rss. Not sure if this could be changed.

Another thing that would be neat is to have a plugin that marks nzb files you have already seen. For instance if you are checking the nzb matrix feed it could highlight nzb's you have already seen to make the truly new content more visible since the rss just displays the last 15 results.

Thank you again for the BEST nzb plugin!

That would be absolutely brilliant. I often find myself scrolling through a list of movies, and finding that I haven't heard of 90% of them. That doesn't mean that they're b-movies though, it just means I don't get out much :p. Being able to see basic info on each movie eg. genre, IMDB score and maybe coverart would help immensely. And of course once this information is available inside the plugin it opens up further possibilities such as automatic filtering/sorting/queueing of content.

I've been considering building a little RSS feed filter myself, that would take a feed with movies, look them up on IMDB and give me a trimmed down list (or even add movies that match certain criteria to the queue automatically). An example of such a filter rule would be to show/add movies that have IMDB scores higher than 7, are not horror movies and do not allready appear in my Moving Pictures database. I think the scraping would be fairly simple (one could probably reuse the Moving pictures Scriptable Scraper code as is), but doing this from inside a MediaPortal plugin would be orders of magnitude cooler than having a little standalone app. Not to mention the eye-candy effect of scrolling through a filmstrip with covers rather than through a text list.

I really hope you get around to giving this a bash.

Thanks for the feedback, I am glad you like the plugin. I agree that making the default Yes makes more sense and I will make it the default in version 1.08. I think I will leave the prompt though because some people click by mistake and if they do it would take longer to go into the queue and delete it then just pressing OK twice.

I'm not sure about the NZBMatrix thing because I don't have a VIP account so I don't actually use those feeds. I just borrowed someones during my original setup. Maybe if someone could compare the RSS feed online and then using my plugin and see if they are different. If not then that's the way NZBMatrix is and I can't do anything about it.

The marking NZB's is an interesting idea. I will think about it and how it could be done, maybe run it by the forum as to if its worth the coding time. Feeds update so often and only show 15-100 results usually at max so this feature probably wouldn't make a noticeable difference on most of the feeds.

Ya I don't think it would be to much code to make it work. I might be able to do it for TVRage also which is were Newzbin links its TV Shows to.

As far as how it would look, I am not sure if I want to go to coverart view or just have menu item for "IMDb Information"/"TVRage Information". Maybe I could have mini-coverart on the left of the items and still keep the listview. My skin uses a listview and not a facade currently.

I will work on the parsing part of things and figure a way to fit it into the skin later. I am kinda running out of room in my skin as it is. I had to put the Newzbin information in a menu item instead of instant because I had no room left.
