Hi all!
My HTPC recently crashed and afterwards Mediaportal was stuttering in the menu and everywhere else. Had a look at the task manager and saw that the MP task caused about 60-70% CPU load. Using Sysinternals Process Explorer I could chase that down to the mscorwks.dll which was running two threads calling the function GetMetaDataInternalInterface, one causing about 45% CPU load and one causing about 20% to 25%.
I checked out the other threads in this forum which match the "mscorwks.dll" search and found out that it might be the FanArtHandler. So I disabled it and it works again. Tried to uninstall FAH and deleted the data left manually. Did a fresh install then, changed the config, started scraper in the config, saved settings and started MP up again - problem back. I checked the file handles that point to files within my media folder, but there was none pointing to a single file, just two pointing to the music folder and one pointing to the folder containing the movies. Closed those handles, but nothing happened except that killing the 2nd music handle caused MP to crash completely.
I even changed skin to default or to Black Glass... no change.
Any hints somebody please?
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
Olly
