Multiple Sound Cards HELP (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have been using Media Portal for more than a year almost every day, and I must say... This is the greatest thing in the world...
I've been playing MP3's, videos or just listening to online radio... whatever I did, MP was always there with me

My budget has grown a litle bit and I have decided to build the ultimate Media PC that would give me joy in next years, normaly and only with Media Portal

There are a lot of hard isues I have to evercome to get what I dream of, and one of them is trying to have multiple sounds. Here is the thing....

I live in a 3 room flat and I would like to have sound system in every room, controled by Media Portal on my Media PC. What I'm thinking of, is to put separate sound systems (some good PC speakers) in every room and connect them to PC. I could do this by connecting all systems to sound output from PC, but the problem is that then I'm getting equal sound volume in every room (except if I manualy reduce volume on spreakers).

Is there a way to have multiple sound cards in PC for every room, so I could control volume through Media Portal for separate rooms? If not, does anyone have idea how to overcome this problem?

Im trying to do a non-standard settup too. What I want to do is to use the two sound cards in my PC for different tasks. When in TV mode, I want the audio to go through one specific Snd Card. When in DVD mode, I would like to have it pump the 5.1 sound to a different Snd Card.

Reason is when in TV, i want the audio to go through my TV (stereo spks) and when watching a film, use my 5.1 surround sound speakers.

Im just starting to get to grips with the code here at home, but if anyone knows if its already been looked at let me know.
