I've had this issue for the last little while and I cannot figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a multiseat setup. Most of the time, playback is flawless. But, occasionally, the MP client gets into a mode where no matter what I do, watching files from the server stutter. In this mode, watching files from the client (movies on local drive) work just fine.

The same problem exists if I watch via TV client (FTR, mind you) or from TV Series.

I've come to realize that when I reboot the server, the playback returns to normal. So, it seems to be a communication issue between client and server.

Here's more details:

Server:
Win7 64 bit SP1
OS is on SSD
Files on 2TB Seagate drive

Gigabit ethernet between client and server

Client:
Win7 64-bit SP1
OS is on SSD
Local movies on 1TB Seagate drive

I've tried two different gigabit switches.

I've tried the MP audio renderer, the MP directshowlibs without much success. Don't get me wrong, they seem to make the playback better, but they don't solve this problem I'm having.

I've attached some logs. The server-side logs don't show anything. The client-side logs show how it keeps getting packets from the past.

I'm at a loss here. How can it work for days at a time without issue and then go into this funk?

I can confirm this problem. In my case it starts often while watching hd channels and can only be fixed by restarting the tv-service. However if I switch to sd channels, they are not stuttering that much.

Thanks for the feedback. I think our issues may be related, but likely not.

I don't think my issue has anything to do with the TVService since the problem occurs even with watching shows in TVSeries which of course has no interaction with the TVService. Also, I have RTSP turned off for my client.

Another tidbit of info:

When this occurs, I can playback shows from a local drive on my client without issue.

So, it's clearly the communication between client and server getting messed up....

Jap, I also thought that it has something to do with my network hardware, but two different switches made the same problem. One of them is a managed layer 2 switch, so I don't believe that this is the orgin of our problem.

I have series and movies on a different server than the tv-service, and I don't have any problems with those, only the tv playback. Imho it's some kind of caching problem, but it's not easy to reproduce.

Can you confirm restarting the tv-service fixes this "lags" while watching series in your configuration as well? What NIC do you use?

I can't use those binaries because I have 2x Digital Devices Cine-S2 Cards and I need a special version from morpheus to work with them. I read that this patch you're talking about is a part of the upcoming beta as well as the cine-s2 fix, so probably this will work - when it's done. '-.-

I think I might have this same problem, I have extremely heavy stuttering with ripped bluerays where the file sizes are large (i.e. 20GB files or above) however the network usage is very low and wireshark doesn't seem to show any problems. I don't have the problem with the same files stored locally and so far live TV is unaffected. This problem seems to have developed suddenly about 3 weeks ago. Rebooting doesn;t always fix the problem, and the problem seems worse immediately after waking the client and server from sleep. I have had the odd occasion, where for no obvious reason it has just "fixed itself" in the middle of diagnosis.

Very confusing....

I am away at the moment, but when I am back next weekend I will post my logs to see if anyone can help with the problem.
