When I click on my music, it plays for about 1 second and then the play icon starts flashing (I have tried click Play/Pause). Also it is all different types of audio formats that do this. Help would be great.
Thanks in advance.
It would really help us to understand your problem better if you were much more descriptive about the precise steps you are taking, and what things you have already tried to resolve this. For example, what do you mean by "the play icon starts flashing"? What type of music files are you trying to play? Are you using the default music player (WMP 10) or have you selected an alternate?
Try these steps - it might help us to get some clues:-
1. Open Mediaportal and go to My Music and select a track to play
2. When the music stops (pauses?) wait a few seconds and then close MediaPortal (ALT+F4)
3. Go to your MediaPortal folder and you should see a sub-folder "logs" - open the MediaPortal.log file in NotePad and copy its contents to the next posting here.
4. Verify that the same music file (a .mp3?) will play OK within Windows Media Player.
Remember that the problem you have described is not being experienced by anyone else, so we need to find out what is different, or wrong, with your installation.... :?
The play icon is very oddly flashing. That is to say that there is a play icon down the bottom left of the screen and it shows for a second than disappear for a quater of a second and keeps doing this.
I have tried using WMP as well as DirectShow but in the "Setup Media Portal" under the main section "Music" it only has WMP9 and not 10 (I have WMP10).
I have tried to play .wav, .wma and .mp3 but they all do the same. They all play fine in WMP10.
