    Hello,

For a while, I have been forced to go into the Mediaportal configuration to get the music database to update whenever I'm adding some new tracks.
I used to use the share view so I never noticed this before switching to the DB view.

Music is stored on my NAS (which runs on Windows Home Server) and is accessed by the HTPC through UNC path.

Where should I look to get an idea of what is going wrong ? :)

    Thanks,

    Seb

Do you have the auto update db on update to share option ticked in config?

Was the update done whilst machine with music database was not on?

Re : Music database is not auto-updated

    Thanks Jameson,

Yes the option is ticked :)

It's indeed possible that music files were added when the HTPC was not on.

I don't know if this is relevent but I can add that the NAS is not always on, so sometimes MediaPortal is running on the HTPC while the NAS is off.

That only works whilst both machines are on.

There is a music DB reorg plugin which you can set to run but I am not sure it wakes the machine to do do this (and obviously needs the NAS to be on). You can also do this via settings inside MP itself to force an update.

I have the issue where I close the client so I have a little app
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/listen-music-99/possible-run-db-reorg-outside-mediaportal-81276/
which runs at 5am everyday outside of MP to import music from my NAS
(this is not an official app so is provided as-is)

This suffers from the same problem in that if your NAS is off it will actually think your music has been deleted and remove it all from the database
