I've just installed MP 1.6.0 without any problems, gapless playback is working fine (WASAPI).....great Job, Big Thanks. Unfortunately i've noticed another (known) issue: wrong channel mapping with HiRes 5.0 flac files (FL, C, FR, RL, RR). I get this output -> FL, C, FR, LFE, RL. Logs are attached. If you need some testfiles, please let me know.

That would require the introduction of channel mapping.
Since i am expecting 5.1 or 7.1 samples.

Does BASS not handle this automatically?
The channel mapping should be in the header (https://xiph.org/flac/format.html#frame_header)

I don't think so. will ask the BASS devs, to be sure

looking at the code and the logs, i think it is more the way i am handling the mixer.
I am simply not expecting an uneven number of channels.
The 5 channels are detected correctly, but then i am creating a 6 channels mixer and this is what is confusing the underlying BASS engine.

i will create a test program to see, if this would be solved, by simply not "correcting" the channels,

@Helios61: Michael, please try your test with the attached sample.
Please note, that the WASAPI device is initalised with 5 channels and a sample rate of 88200.
exactly, like your samples that you provided.
Only those files will play correct.
