Haven't had a look on that.
My plugin is dedicated to Music only atm.
I think it makes no sense to have one single plugin monitoring everything, probably it's better to have several plugins.

bug in MP plugin with RC3

Hello,

When I activate the plugin and close MP, MP isn't really shutdown but remains running (as proces)... I turned the plugin of in MP configuration and problem is gone.

Was trying it several times, without any problems. I have 2 PCs and on both of them MP shuts down normal.

Does it always happen?
Does it happen when you just start MP and then exit out of it, without changing any music file?
could you please PM me the musicsharewatch.log and the mediaportal.log?

Just released a new version of the Plugin, that supports the new features introduced by Steve. "Treat folder as album" and "Scan for Various Artists" .

Plugin can be downloaded here

Latest SVN needs to be used. RC4 alone is not sufficient.

MusicShareWatcher is no part of SVN. Only users with 0.2 should download the plugin and exe from the download page.

Helmut I am adding a lot of my CD´s to MP now.
Am I right that your (integrated) musicsharewatcher does not make use of the embedded cover art in the mp3 tags and only the full scan does?
(Because I try to embedd all cover-art to the mp3 when tagging them.)

A question too : MP needs to be running (and the MusicShareWatcher plugin activated) when I transfer my files so the Integrated MusicShareWatcher take them into account ?

tomtom: I'm using the same Database method than the import does. so if a file contains embedded artwork it will be extracted the same way as with a native import.

Heh, writing this lines i noticed that when adding a new file, this will not happen. only when updating. Will correct that during this week.


Chli: you either have MP running with the pkugin enabled OR you start the MusicShareWatcher.exe out of the MP Directory, if you want to do the updates without having MP running

i found an issue during testing this bug report: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=12438

I changed edited the tag of some files and then they are not shown as the same album. I am not sure if it is a bug or the problem is to reread the database in mp. Hope you can confirm it. The original files were tagged by MusicBrainz Picard for test i used Mp3tag.

Here the same album entry is shown two times:


first, one with the edited files:
