Hi, sometimes i really miss the mce music view. Usually you have more than 10 album artist and i do not like the
    default order A - B - C - D....

So i just created a pictures of whats up in my mind about this view.

More artists at once per page. I added a slider, similar to xbmc, too. I know you can press the numbers on the remote, just
    an idea.

Would it be very difficult to create that view for skinning noob? The higher number of displayed artists would be enough
    for me.

I guess more than one column is just not possible to display.

Hi. Still cant get the idea out of my head. I´d prefer the view even without the artist thumbs and the big selected artist thumb, just plain text and fanart background.

Today i tried to play around with the xml files, but without any good result. Couldnt even find where i can disable the big selected artist thumb.
My idea was to copy the big thumb view and change thumb to label, showing the artist name insted of the thumb.

Guess i just have to read some more about skinning mepo. However, any hint is much appreciated.

To make changes to the list you want 'common.facade.music.xml' and look for list control.
To remove the artist thumb it's in 'mymusicgenres.xml'
not sure if what you want could be done but if you did it the
problem I think would be that it would replicate the layout on other music list views like playlists etc.

That was the xml is was playing with. Good point with other music views. So i probably would have to change e.g. coverflow to my "view", so normal list view wont change.

Not sure if that would be possible, the views are standard MP views, not sure if the skin has the possibility to make those kind of changes but im no skinner so not sure.

You can make the list longer if you want to get more artists on a page in a single column though.

What you should probably do is post the question 'Are double columns possible in list view?' in the main skin section, find out if it's actually possible before spending hours on it then finding out it can't be done :)

I guess your right about the standard views, since the type itself is just called from this xml.
Building a new view type is far beyond my skills.
Your right, should know if somethink like this is possible at all.
