Hi is there any support for music videos with mutliple artists?
eg. Bob Sinclair & Sean Paul - Tik Tok.avi
Could be stored under both Bob Sinclair - Tik Tok & Sean Paul - Tik Tok

Would have to make allowances for artists that have 'and' in their name
eg. "Florence and the machine" is one artist.

If there was support for above, then artists with 'and' in their name would not be able to be typed with the '&' symbol. Also you might need to have an additional search as some artists with 'and' in the name are stored under last.fm using the '&' symbol.

So "Florence and the machine" would be first parsed as "Florence and the machine", but if no matches were found then the plugin would also search under "Florence & the machine" and "florence + the machine".

Last.fm is inconsistent with it's use of "and" / "&" / "+"

eg. "Florence + The Machine" vs. "Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds"

Alternatively you could use a comma symbol or pipe | symbol for multiple artists, as there are not many music artists with comma or pipe | in the artist name.

The best solution is probably a comma symbol, but I leave this all up to you, as whether something you would like to support or not. If you used a comma symbol then "Bob Sinclair, Sean Paul - Tik Tok" would have a database entry under both bob sinclair and sean paul both pointing to the same video file. When the music video was playing it would be best if both names were still displayed in the overlay.

Hi kiwijunglist,

The whole multiple artists side is something that is a bit of pain and I have not yet developed a viable solution. The actual storage within the DB is less of that inconsistent source data.

Will add this to the list, I did also note your last mail Ref video jockey etc, some of that exists but not in quite the format or with the options you mention.

Will say that development has slowed as of late as the paying job and silly project deadlines are getting in the way, will get to this as soon as I can.

I don't think inconsistent source data is much of a problem for adding multiple artists. I just think it's a matter of getting an acceptable file naming convention that would not interfere with existing artist names.

Comma symbol probably being the best because
1. Not aware of any music artists with a comma in the artist name.
2. Comma looks nice in file name structure.
3. Could use multiple commas for more than 2 artists as well.
