mvCentral - Music Videos Plugin (Stable) (1 Viewer)

Hi trevor, is it posible to jump directly to an artist or a particular video? Would like to be able to do this with voxcommando, over on their forums i'm told Mvcentral would need a similar update to what tvseries just had for the same purpose here

No support as of now, will require code changes but dont see it being to much of problem, could add additional paremeter support.

show:<artist>/<track>
play:<artist>/<track>

etc..

Only issue would be multiple matchs on track name...

Add it as an enhancement to the tracker and will hopfully get round to it in a week or so when I have done with the additional providers.

Cheers will do, as for multiple matches Voxcommando brings up a dialog box with the possible matches allowing to say what option number you would like.

The ideal (IMO) would be to have the option of using for the Artist/Track parameter either a Name or ID. That is assuming you have some kind of ID which can be read from an MP database file. Name is easier to use, but ID will be guaranteed to get the right one. In the case of multiple songs with the same name, the ideal when requesting by name would be to list them all but maybe that's not possible. I haven't actually used this plugin (yet) but I'd like to be able to support it in VoxCommando. I hope I'm making sense!

Should just be able to change the the lable from Type-Defect to Type-Enhancment but it may have something to do with me be the owner, maybe I get more choices, will try and check.

There is an ID but it is the internal generated one the only uninversal ID that is really avaiable for Artists and Albums and tracks is MBID (Musicbrainz) though currently I dont seem to get the MBID for tracks from last.fm.

Issue here is a MBID is '6af5abdb-52b2-4a84-b98f-b06af73b83e0' for example so not that useful as a voice command.

Is there a working VoxCommando plugin available yet, may be worth a look ?

I just want to advise you that VoxCommando is not free, but it is free to try. (demo mode is fully functional but you are limited to 25 commands and then you must restart it)

I'm coming out with a new version very soon with an updated plugin configuration for controlling MediaPortal. Here's a demo controlling XBMC with VoxCommando. I hope to eventually have a similar level of control available for MediaPortal:

Hi James - I can't wait for the next release! @ anyone who hasn't tried VoxCommando yet, give it a go, you'll be hooked! It will be great if better integration between VC & MVC can be achieved but even as it is you can use VC to play songs in mvCentral - it's a bit clunky having to scroll or jump to Artists or Songs but it's still cool

Hi Trevor,

i made some tests with my music videos collection (over 750 videos). The default string replacment dosen't work for me as i wanted, the main problem was with multiple artist, so i definded my own string replacements (see screenshot). My folder structure is: Artist\Artist - Title.ext.
The way i named my videos is for example:

B.o.B. - Airplanes ft Hayley Williams.mkv

i think this is better than:

B.o.B. ft Hayley Williams - Airplanes.mkv

because i have more videos of one artist, and so i have in the artist view only one entry: B.o.B.
otherwise it would be two entries: B.o.B. and B.o.B. ft Hayley Williams.
With those string replacements the parser works nearly perfect (only 50 videos where not recognized).

A few issues/requests:
1. In the default skin, in some videos the title are not displaying (see screenshot). I have the option display raw track enabled.

2. For the videos that i have at least 2 versions, only one thumbnail is creating (see screeenshot)
For example:
- Lady Gaga - Marry the Night.mkv
- Lady Gaga - Marry the Night (Live MTV EMA 2011).mkv
the thumbnail for the first version, is used also for the second version.

3. An option to grab info from billboard and create playlists (like in youtube.fm)
would be very nice. The feature in youtube.fm works good, but the problem are copyrights on youtube, many videos are no available in different countrys (or they are available, but in a totaly different version). So the option to create a playlist with localy saved videos, for example bilboard TOP20 would be very useful

Anyone know if you can check if the last fm scraper is working, none of my videos are getting any information, says recieving possible matches then once its finished it askes me to confirm possible matches but there are none to choose from, the files normally get picked up fine but i deleted my data base to try a new version.
