Its the summary description which is not populated.
I have the same problem for some series. As far as I can see, all other information is downloaded correctly, except the series summary, for those series.

Yeah, me too. When you download the information, there's no progress bar and you have to wait like 10-20 sec.

I noticed that some animes have thumbnails for each episode and some not.

EDIT: I've found a problem, some episodes don't show up correctly.

Fixed for 2.0.15, looks like AniDB is responding slightly differently which causes the problem

Btw: The Menu under "F9" has now a rather deep selection structure. Is there a possiblity to go back to the next higher menu level without starting from the beginning?

Cheers,

Yup will look at this.

Even though I have imorted everything, the AniDB-queue goes up to around 900 queries if I run a new import. Is this normal? What is it looking for? In 2.0.13, it only rechecked the unrecognized files, If I remember correctly.

It could be importing missing episodes or characters that you didn't do on the initial import.
If this keeps happening (900 is probably too much), attach your log so we can have a look.

It would also be nice to have some kind of import/database manager outside of MP. With the ability to maintain/update the database without starting MP. Thoug I reckon this would be quite some work.

Do you mean something other than the Config screen for the plugin?
Is there a need for a separate program?

You will never see a progress bar when retrieving information from AniDB.
AniDB has restrictions on how many messages you can send over a certain time period, and we can only send one message at a time (which is not the case for TvDB)
Which means we have to queue up messages.

Episode thumbnails/descriptions come from TheTvDB.
If you don't see any thumbnails it's probably because no-one has added one.
Feel free to help out the community and start adding some on TvDB ;)

That looks quite strange indeed.
However your whole skin looks a bit off. Are you missing some fonts as well?

    Hmm,

Experienced with MP1.0.1 RC1 several Mp crashes while intensively working with the plugin. Crashes either happening with a total kill of the mp process and sometimes only of the window (means window disappeared but process was still there).
As this may have several potential causes not plugin related: Did somebody experienced a similar behaviour?

Already checked the logs: nothing to be found which indicated a failure.

One other note on feature requests:
Having the possibility to assign shortcuts to F9 menu items in the right side menu. This would help when you have to use frequently some deep burried menu items (e.g. renaming of series from ADB, manually re-assign TVD/MovieDB associations , etc)

    Cheers,

Yes the same thing happens for me some times during large imports
It only occurs on my HTPC which has an older CPU.
It doesn't occur if I turn off the TvDB importing.

Yeah possibly we could have a user configurable portion of the menu at the top level.

Well, there are animes which have thumbnails on TvDB, but doesn't show up on My Anime 2.

    here an example:

    1zd9193.jpg

I've just seen, that the thumbnails from TvDB where downloaded on the ....\AnimeThumbs\TvDB\episodes folder but
    it won't load the files.

    That looks quite strange indeed.

Ok, I think that the skin might be the problem, since I had similar problems with MPTvseries and by the changing the skin the problem was solved.

Mmmh, funny. I have a quad intel 3GHz, which I didn't considered as outdated yet.

Lets see if this is retained when they switch to RC2

Well, some characters seems to be missing, but not really that many. When I tried the last time, the counter first went up to 14, and it started to check some new files against AniDB, but after a while it ticked up to 958, starting to import characters, creators and episodes again. I interrupted the import after a couple of minutes, but I guess that's enough to see what it's importing and why...

I didn't really mean something other than the config screen - the config screen is enough. But maybe make the config screen more flexible, with more abilities for modification of descriptions, and AniDB imports without starting MP.
Though, the reason for me wanting this feature is that I earlier had some problems with the database and had to delete certain tables, which I had to install a separate software to do. And I guess it's better to prioritize finding what caused the database to be incomplete and defeat the need of a database modifier. :p

Are any of those images files corrupt, or they seem fine?

    That's not bad I guess :p
I'll have to keep thinking about this one as it happened to me again last night.

Can I ask how many series/folders you scan during an import?

    Ah finally figured it out.
You need to turn off the following option in your config.
"Update AniDB Series/Episodes on Version Change"
I'll take a closer look at this to see what it is doing.

Yup it definitely still needs a lot of work :)

Great work on the plugin, it just keeps getting better and better.

    I have 2 questions though.

    1. Is it possible to play unrecognized files ?

I recently had some files that couldn't be matched to anidb. The files were too new and hadn't been added to anidb yet.
In the old plugin (version 1) I could just select the unrecognised filename and play the file.
Now if I select the file and press ok on the remote nothing happens anymore.

    2. How exactly is the calendar function supposed to work?

The update every 24 hours option is checked but the calander doesn't show anything.
When I use the manual update button in the calendar screen nothing happens.

I did get the update button working only once using in the blue3wide skin. It's looks like a great feature, but it resulted in al sorts of extra anime series in the main view and I had to revert to a backup of my database. (Didn't feel like manually removing all the faulty series / group entries)
