My Anime 3 (2 Viewers)

Joined the MA3 team and with the help of the developers there we started fixing and tracking new and old bugs, some of those have been fixed now and here's a short list of some of it:

- Following skins have been updated and tested fully working:

StreamedMP
Titan

Others like Avalon and Avalanche we need some testers or preferably the skin designer as looks like some got updated externally by modders and would overwrite any changes we do as they are included in their MPEI packages or loose files.
DefaultWide has been renamed to DefaultWideHD but needs further testing as that one doesn't seem have any basic home editor to include the plugin which makes testing impossible.

Something Random <-- still not perfect but functional

- Keyboard hook has been replaced by native Mediaportal method so longer locks out other keyboard input
- Mode and Start text toggle keys have been remapped to [ and ] respectively
- Mode and Start text can also be toggled with RED and BLUE remote buttons
- Titan Extended files are now included to fix remaining issues with default Titan installation (missing requirements)
- MPEI installer has been reworked with new layout and readme information
- Misc code improvements and bugfixes


Attached is an pre-release version of the upcoming release, please test if you can and report back the results even if positive (@pur_berger @yhoogi @2.0 )

In regards to MediaPortal 2 support, Leo has mentioned it before and I'd know many users would love to see it and while I can tell you that it will be supported, I don't havs a timeframe for that at the moment.

If you like to start on this topic I can offer help to get started with the MP2 architecture. I recently wrote a plugin that imports Amazon Prime movies and TV shows (from an external database) into the MP2 media library and allows browsing them using the normal movie + series views.

One big advantage of this way is, that you don't have to do any skinning, because all depends on existing media views.

But there are more ways to bring this plugin to MP2, you can start a thread for collecting ideas in the MP2 sub forums

@morpheus_xx Not having to skin for MP2 would be a mayor benefit as we can port some of the code from MP1 that way and not worry about skinning as we have nobody for that

@ElementalCrisis currently there are a lot of specific features in MA3 so think we should make a list of features we would want in the MP2 plugin and check if it's still possible within MP2, from the top of my head these are the ones that would require an plugin rather than integrating it into a existing media library of MP2 (not sure how advanced that has gotten tbh):

- Custom group views which are read out of the JMM server (All / Custom series / Global recently watched / <user created/> )
- Custom pages which get data out of JMM server like:

- User profiles which are read out of JMM server with PIN code input if set
- Local mappings relations to remote mappings, by default for MP1-MA3 the user has manually map those to their network ones or use streaming (new feature)
- Subtitle selection settings, not sure if needed but that gets setup in MP1-MA3 config

Since JMM client is .NET 4.5 with XAML for the UI thought about maybe using parts of that in the future for MP2 to allow for easy updating (not having 2 code bases) but need more input from the other developers to check if that is feasible

made some testing; first impression (GUI: StreamedMP)

1) Fan-Art is working fine & observed bug with showing wrong fanart after fast scroll seems resolved
2) Displaying Fanarts for large groups (i.e. with serveral series) and/or high number of fanarts have a lag before showimg (1..2 sec); even with the cache function and using a SSD
looks like it is first establishing a collection & high number of fanarts take some processig time
3) Calender does not show prior & subsequent month; also prior / following months can't be selected
so you are stuck in the current month (Bug since 3.6.0.x)

4) Search function claims keyboard focus for the keyboard numbers and captures the characters 0-9,# (from T9 search), although MP window is in the background.
Alphanumeric characters are not captured and entered in the focussed window.
Steps to reproduce:
Setting: "Keep Mediaportal always on Top" unselected
Start Explorer/Browser (e.g. firefox); start MP; switch to MyAnime Plugin
Change task to Firefox/Explorer
Try to type something in search field: Characters are shown, numbers are not
Switching to MP reveals that search mask has popped up
(Bug since 3.6.0.x)
seems like the keyboard hook still not function properly
update: seems like the search mode is not working correctly; can't switch between T9/word mode & been stuck in T 9

Top buttons from StreamedMP are indeed invisible and not linked anymore, left / right scrolling still works so functionality is there just not the UI buttons for it and will fix
Also missing the months view so will re-add.

Might know why that happens with the new keyboard handler, it only checks if MyAnime3 is the active plugin not the screen position itself (minimized / tray).
However can't reproduce that one yet, to rule out any issue with the new installer could you double check the following:

- Navigate to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows

- Right click "Anime3.dll" and select properties, from the properties window navigate to "Details" where it should say File Version 3.6.9.0 like below:

That sounds great, we've got some major changes happening with JMM here soon but afterwards with the help of @Rick164 who has recently joined our team we're going to start outlining the MP2 version of My Anime. When actual development starts we'll create a new thread for it.

Cntrl+M still working (just checked)
Pro: ] did not work with German Keyboards (its ALT_GR+9 which is not recognized)
Con: now captures all keyboard events
