Changed over the 9250 to a 6200 passively cooled card. So proper DX9 support and the drivers are so much nicer to work with. Also using the component now to connect to the tv. Quality is a lot better than Svideo.
Also got another Nova-t which Im just starting to play around with. Going to need a few small fixes to get it working 100% I think.
Callifo, did you do anything about the PSU fan? I have one of these coolermaster cavaliers and I find the PSU fan is by far the loudest component.
I throttled back the 60mm fans, and I've got a SilentBoost as well, with a 92mm fan @ 1350rpm. I left the 80mm fan on the left as I found it to be completely silent, and placed the hdd in the center slot (where you have your fan controls). I also removed the PCI brackets to allow cool air intake.
My system runs hotter than yours: cpu_max=47, case_max=41, hdd_max=39.
I did have a peek at the fan after pulling the psu apart but it seems ok. Even if I unplug all the fans I can only hear the psu fan if I put my ear right up to it. It flows less air than my cpu fan. It would be pretty easy to replace if you wanted to though.
Its connected via a plug so just cut the plug off both fans and solder the one off the psu onto the new fan. It uses a 15mm thick fan if I remember correctly.
Wow you fit a 92mm fan on your silent boost? As you can see in my picture above the 80mm sits against the psu with no gap at all.
I also managed to grap a pci slot cooler from an Antec Aria which is very low speed. Barely moves any air but the air it does move is very warm. The tv cards are always warm to touch and it dropped the video card temp 10C. Got absolutely no pci slots left now.
Yeah, I might just do some adjustments to the PSU fan. Thanks for the info on it.
I guess our mobo's are slightly different in the placement of the CPU. I was able to put an 80->92 adapter with fan, and still have a small clearance with the PSU.
Your case/hd is running much cooler too - I think your external fan mod probably makes a sizeable difference.
