@ tano_grasa - sorry to take so long to get back to you.

Looking at your screenshots, you seem to be running a screen resolution of 1680x1050 is that correct?
If so, I am sure you know that is not 16x9 which is what the DefaultWide skin supports. Are you running in windowed mode? Did you select 'Autosize windowed mode to skin dimensions' in GUI setup? You will likely run into other distortions of images and textures as well.

See the attached screenshot how MyFilms 6 looks in the correct aspect ratio 16x9

The reason the covers looked ok in MF 5.1 is because the previous version of DefaultWide kept the aspect ratio on images, which the new version does not.

OK so what can you do? ;)
    1. Add <keepaspectratio>yes</keepaspectratio> tag to all the image controls in MyFilms.ListView.Cover.xml - that should get you close but you may have to tweak them all a bit as a result
    2. Use a skin that supports <keepaspectratio>yes</keepaspectratio> :p
    3. Use DefaultWide on a 16x9 screen, or run in windowed mode and preserve the skin dimensions.
    Re the 'bluish' tonality -
    1. you can change the backdrop overlay from black.png to blue.png in MyFilms.xml, MyFilmsDetails.xml and even MyFilmsCoverManager.xml. You can play around with the colordiffuse tag to increase/decrease the opacity of the overlay, but it is still quite dark (as per new Default Skin style). So if you want you can use Backgroundtop2.png to go even 'bluer'.
