Hi y'all !
I just want to share my setup to get (in my opinion
) perfect audio...
It was a struggle... Also to get TrueHD audio working on my non TrueHD receiver... My receiver only supports Dolby Digital DTS 5.1... And no TrueHD Audio or DTS-HD.
Well i've managed to process all audio from movies... (2.0 Stereo, 5.1 DD or 5.1 DTS AND also TrueHD or other hd audio) but also mp3 or flac files so it will be played on my receiver all as Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.
Using a recent ffdshow also LAV... (click links to download)
See screenshots for how to setup and configure it all...
The result is:
MKV file with TrueHD 7.1 source audio and no AC3 will be parsed thru LAV and then Thru ffdshow...
Also possible to only use LAV.. but i like ffdshow more.
Result playing mp3 files...
Will be converted to played as 5.1 Dolby Digital... (personal taste, but i like that a lot compared to Prologic II music or something like that)
Also for FLAC files...
Or movies with DTS Sound...
Config in MP:
Select drop downs "MPEG / AC3 audio" an "AAC audio" both the option "LAV Audio Decoder"
Add "ffdshow audio processor" (not decoder) to Activated filters...
In LAV properties: Disable/uncheck ALL bitstreaming... so it will be processed after LAV by ffdshow...
Then in ffdshow audio processor:
and in ffdshow audio decoder:
I think thats all
