I believe we can conclude that there is some abnormal behavour regarding the showing of thumbs but also that these aren't related to the MyLyrics plugin, but rather MyMusic. I seems like the bug is reported in Mantis 1000, and that the devs will fix the error in a future svn.

I found a small issue with navigation and lyrics.

When in database view, say sort by artists and I go to lyrics, to view lyrics and then return to my music, the view is set back to shares.

Could my lyrics remeber the view I left?

The bug in Mantis 1000 has been fixed, but the issue with coverart not showing in My Lyrics still exists. I have done some more testing, and this is what I have discovered:-

If I have disabled the generation of album art thumbnails so there are no thumbnails in the "Thumbs\Music" folders AND I have the option "Show visualisation (BASS player only)" in MediaPortal Setup -> Music -> Now playing tab unselected, then the coverart is NOT displayed in either the "Now Playing" or "My Lyrics" screens.

However, if I have disabled the generation of album art thumbnails so there are no thumbnails in the "Thumbs\Music" folders AND I have the option "Show visualisation (BASS player only)" in MediaPortal Setup -> Music -> Now playing tab selected, then the coverart IS displayed in the "Now Playing" but NOT in the "My Lyrics" screens.

So, it looks like there is different code in "Now Playing" for displaying the cover art, depending upon the option "Show visualisation (BASS player only)"?

If that is correct, could you use the piece of code from "Now Playing" that does display the coverart from the "folder.jpg" file when the option "Show visualisation (BASS player only)" is selected?

If you could do this change, then those of us who choose not to create album art thumbnails can still enjoy seeing album art in your wonderful My lyrics plugin ....

BTW, I understand that the option to create album art thumbnails is intended to improve the performance for those users that have their music folders on remote drives. As all my music is on a local drive, I have no need to have thousands of thumbnails created for the album art.

Unfortunately there is no way for the plugin to send messages to MyMusic, and accordingly no decent way to make MyMusic remember its latest exit.

Hi Taipan. Thanks for testing this one. You are right that the images don't show in all circumstances, which is due to some lack of code in MyLyrics which are present in MyMusic. To make the thumbnails mechanism work in the plugin I had to copy a lot of the methods from the Nowplaying file, however not all methods could be copied easily due to some intern namespace restrictions. Therefore there are some caps in the visualization that is missing, and unfortunately there is not a lot I can about it as things are.

Also the plugin is thought to be integrated into MyMusic and the code behind MyLyrics will then take on the code and methods from the NowPlaying screen, and when that happens, everything will work smoothly and flawless. Until then there will be a couple of minor temporarily GUI errors that cant be sorted out without a great deal of work.

I cannot say then the integration will take place, it is in the hands of the MP team.

0.2.3.0 Rc2 Svn

I love this plugin but it no longer seems to work.
I went from stable version 0.2.2.0 to 0.2.3.0 RC2 wit SVN from 18-09-2007.
To avoid the obvious questions:
- I uninstalled MediaPortal from the Software menu in the Configuration Panel
- I renamed the remaing Mediaportal folder to Mediaportal.old
- I rebooted the PC
- I installed 0.2.3.0 RC2
- I installed SVN from 18-09-2007
- I copied the files from the plugin (MyLyrics0.22) to the correct folders

In the main menu the following message appears "Missing or invalid file: C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\BlueTwo\myHome.xml"

When I try to access the plugin from the "Mediaportal Configuration" to configure the plugin, an error message appears. I can select quit or continue, but if selecting continue nothing happens.

So here's the question "Does Mylyrics support the latest version of MediaPortal"??

This will not help you much, but a few days ago there was an announcement that many things changed in the database view.

These changes broke all music-related plugins as you can read here.

That's right. Since the new musicdatabase is in SVN MyLyrics don't work. Trying to configure the plugin in the configuration\plugins leads to an exeption and the JIT Debugger appears. Something like musicdatabase.cs as far as I remember, must have a closer look.
