I agree that the actiongroup isn't working perfectly. The main problem is that some screens don't have controls that can be focused after leaving the actiongroup. I'm new to actionsgroups and the trick I found to make the sidebar to disappear was to show the tag control, focus it and then hide it again. Then the sidebar is closed and the proper screen is showed. Works ok in the two Blue3 skins. I should work in other skins as well.

If you have a trick or two, or recommendent changes to the xml files, please let me know.

When I do a database search the application crashes at a certain point.
When restarting and doing a search again the application crashes at a later point in the stage.

Should I have installed previous version before installing 1.40?
If yes, how can I do this?

Please tick the log option in the configuration. Do a search and attach the log to a message here. Then I'll have a look.

No need for previous versions of MyLyrics. MP 1.00 or 1.1 beta is required.

Well, actually it doesn´t work well in the Blue3 skins either. I would suggest you use a menu instead an actiongroup. Much easier to handle, no problems with visibilities etc. and much easier to implement.

I had a couple of testers that had to problem using the actiongroup, and I thinks it is okay. Which specific problems do you encounter?

Neither the actiongroup nor the menu is documented in the wiki. I only found examples of actiongroups in existings skin files.

The problems are: no acces to the actiongroup with a mouse (e.g. see myPictures), no disappearing of actionmenu when pressing right if in LRC screen. I encountered this in the BLU3 skins, and porting the xmls to my PureVision skins resulted in the same error.
The actiongroups you referred to are all depending on a *listcontrol* with id 50. I tried different scenarios with dummy buttons and dummy lists, but nothing worked. Nor relating the visibility to one of the LRC lines (400-512). So what has the focus when LRC is shown? 1020? Or 20?

Oh, didn't know about the mouse issue. I don't use the mouse myself and have failed to test the skin file with mouse actions. I cannot find any differences between the xml files for My Pictures and My Lyrics that could explain why it works in the first and not in the latter. It seems like a difference in code, then. I'll try to locate in the mypic source..

I have tried to fix the problems with the closing of the actiongroup but haven't found a flawless solution. The main problem is that 20 and 1020 isn't shown in LRC mode. Therefore a <onRight>20</onRight> wont work in LRC. Only labels are shown in LRC mode and these can not have focus and thereby the no action get focus and the actiongroup isn't closed.. I think this is a bug in the MP GUI, but this will natural not be fixed in the feature freeze.

The problem isn't that great though. Simple press the "Find LRC" button and the actiongroup will be closed. However I got an idea or two that I try out, but I'm not sure that the issue really can be fixed due to the limitations in the MP GUI engine. Documentation of the control would natural help a bit.

for your efforts. I didn´t mention the workaround you described above because that will always work. Hope you´ll find out something - and as I said before - a menu would be much easier to integrate and wouldn´t have those disadvantages mentioned.

Sounds like the menu control is the way to go. I did not no of such before you mentioned it. No info in the wiki and the menus I have seen in the Blue3 skins is based upon actiongroups. Can you point me to a skinfile or two that uses the menu control? Preferable in the Blue3wide skin. thanks

Example for menus are a lot: In all fullscreen TV and Video screens, in myVideos etc. when pressing F9 or rightclick with mouse or menu button on remote a context menu is shown. Many plugin use that function. e.g myFilms, MovingPictures, TVSeries etc. It´s a very common thing.
