My music freezes in Blue3, help! (1 Viewer)

I have fresh installed MP 1.0 RC4. This Problem was also with Blue3 in RC3. NO problem with Blue2.
The Problem is totally freezing of mediaportal screen, when I enter to my music. Freezing happens after about 10 secs.. before that I can browse my music and play it, Then it freezes. Music continues playing if i started it and i can stop it by pressing remote's stop button. When I click keyboard or remote's buttons, I hear click -sound, but nothing happens in screen.

Anyone has this problem?

Make sure the setting for memory is not auto in the bios, see if it will let you change to 128mb or better still 256mb.

Has either of you got a viz enabled, the logs show continuous D3D errors, so make sure you have directx from august 2008 installed, MP1.0RC4 should notice if this update is installed as its a requirement, just make sure you do have it though

hmm. freezing happens always within ~10 seconds when entering my music. if i started playing music i can stop it (adn rewind) by pressing ir remote's spesified play ... buttons.

and i have running MP in second screen, when i press eg. green home button or tv shortcut buttons, I can see current mode in windows taskbar! so Mediaportal is not freeze, only screen.


But yesterday i had problem solved! I updated video driver to newest one. From Catalyst 8.2 -> 8.11.

new problem

aargh! freezing solved, but now music visualization and tv image is flickering in that "mini" preview screen in home screen on in my tv.. fullscreen and other windows ok ..

EDIT: Trying different Catalysts...
- My music freezes and preview window works ok with Catalyst 7.12, 8.2 and 8.7.
- with Catalyst 8.9, 8.10 and 8.11 My Music works ok, no freezing, but video/vizualization preview window flickers (about 1/2sec)

also reinstalled/updated to DirectX august 2008 and dropped 2 Ati services to auto->manual - no change
and checked bios. there's no 'auto' option, it was set to 128mb (max). Windows displays 256 of graphics memory.


PROBLEB SOLVED @ 4.12.2008! Using Catalyst 8.10. Noticed that vizualization/album art displays ok, only TV preview flickers in home and in My TV. SWITCHED TV Mpeg2 video codec to Cyberlink (version 6) from MPV and disabled HW acceleration in PDVD options and wow, TV image stays and NO FLICKERING anymore!
Now I am happy!
