My Music makes MP freeze after a while (1 Viewer)

Unfortunately, I don't have the slightest idea what is happening. However, I did notice the following in your log:

g_Player.OnStarted() D:\backup\backup_hempc9d\patrik\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Samlingar\Feels Like Home\07 Creepin' In.m4a

Maybe it's something to do with the ' in the filename? Is is not worth a try? Make a backup copy of your music and "fix" all filenames with something like that. If you want to. Like I said - it's a shot in the dark

And again a file with a single-quote in the filename according to the log file:

1-09 Mary's boy child.m4a

Coincidence?

I would still suggest you investigate this further. See if you can confirm/reject this pattern.

Well, thanks rekenaar for your suggestion. I will have to double check this just to be sure - but if you see my first log it is hanging with a song that does not contain ' in it...

And the thing is, is that it has never hanged in the start of a song always after a minute or so of a song.. So come to think about it may perhaps have to do with cover art ? Since that starts to download in the background when the song is already running?

Do you never have had any problem with this rekenaar?

And as I said before I have never had the problem with my previous SVN (16587) I've been using before. I haven't tested the SVNs in between so I can't say when this was introduced - given that it is an MP problem..

Your first log does have something similar at 2007-12-31 13:45:59.713805.

I am not lucky enouch to have a permanent internet connection at home, so if it is something with coverart, I would not pick it up.

Hello, some update:

Did try with music with ' in it (In the title). But the problem did not occur consistently with those songs. But still crasched in another song later on - so my problem persist.

Tried to turn off Audioscrobbler. The testing is done with both playlist and playing an album - and it always crasch eventually - sometimes with the first song sometimes after 2, 3 or later songs...

So there is definitey a problem...

Thanks Ronilse for trying to reproduce.
If I had a consistent .m4a or thumbs that fail I would make sure you get them.. however I can't find any pattern - so if I play one song and the problem arise - when I try to reproduce the issue myself by killing MP and trying again - it will work.

So the only consistence I can see is that it eventually happens sooner or later.
And if listen to an album/playlist in list view it never happens...

Perhaps a Vista/ATI/HD2600 driver issue...? I was hoping you could reproduce it easily...

My problem is that I did not change anything besides upgrading TVE3/MP from SVN 16587 to the one a reported above... So right now I'm clueless. But since you can't reproduce it - it appears it must be my setup anyway...

Will try to nail it down later (don't have time right now), since for now I can live with it in list view... Will report back as soon as I have any more input.

Sorry to say no - the problem is still there.

Did update my GFX drivers to new newest and also latest SVN today. Then it worked for a couple of hours today - until it happened again...

I get a similar error but for different a reason which I can reproduce at will.

I'm currently in the process of moving music and playlists created on different computers to a single one. I haven't updated all the playlists correctly. As a result when MP comes across a song in the playlist that does not exist, the screen then freezes with what looks like DirectX errors in the log, similar to reported here.

When the screen freezes, MP continues to play the music correctly with control functions responding accordingly - stop , next, back etc. As expected, once the screen has crashed the only way out is with Alt-F4 and to start again.

I did notice alot of my songs have a ' in the title so this may also be a factor. I've attached a second log file where the song does not have a ' in the filename and the error still occurs because it can't be found.

Summary of system: MP 0.2.3.0, XP SP2, 9550 Raedon, 8.1 Catalyst Drivers.
