Finally got around and purchased all the pieces i wanted and hooked it up. This is no hardcore setup, but it has a exclusive look and a more than decent performance. Images attached :)

The television is a 47" LG 47LM760T, the soundbar is a Panasonic SC-HTB520 with a wireless subwoofer. The "TV stand" is actually a IKEA Bestå Burs DVD shelf. It's not as deep as the typical TV stand at about 45cm, and it's wall mounted. I hate legs and cables collecting dust on the floor. Inside this DVD shelf, i've got a ASRock Vision HT 321B which is powered by a Ivy Bridge CPU and Intel HD Graphics 4000. I've also replaced the default 750GB HDD wit a Intel 520 128GB SSD, and inserted 8GB DDR3 CL9 SO-DIMMs. It preforms quite well, and boot time is amazing (my first SSD) :) I also have this Samsung BT compact wireless keyboard which looks outstanding, and a crappy Targus BT mouse. I'm considering this Philips SRT9320 Prestigo remote control as my Logitech Harmony decided to die. Anyone with experience with the Philips Prestigo?

Viewing distance is about 3 meters, making the size of the television ideal if you ask me. Even my girlfriend agrees, though she was very skeptical when i told here that i was replacing the old 40" with a 47", lol. I'm pretty happy with this setup and wanted to share with you :)

    I DO like that!!

Very clean, great screen with a very narrow bezel and looks a very professional setup. It could have come from a magazine!

Why are GF's so sceptical about things that don't involve shoes and handbags ;)

Thanks for good feedback, the kind of feedback i like :p I have to admit that i find the compromises worth it, as the looks is important to me. That's why i'm so very happy with the soundbar and it's slim design, it plays pretty well. You can't argue that a set of stereo speakers or a surround system easily out-preforms it, but i'm not that much of a hifi freak, and it plays loud and clear enough for me. I used to have a 52" Toshiba LCD, which was great for watching porn Grey's Anatomy, but it was to dominating for the livingroom, and i find the 47" much more suitable.

I would also claim that it looks even better live than on those pics. :)

Atm, not using IR to control MP, just keyboard. I'm planning on setting up some BT/WiFi remote, or simply getting a discrete IR extender. Tried to set up aMPdroid the other day, but it was more complicated than i hoped for. I also have a tendency to do things the hard way, lol.

Very nice setup, I really like the narrow borders on the TV. Less is more in the case of your livingroom!

I own this philips prestigo remote, price/quality is fine.

    Pros:
Very easy learning function, has got an IR receiver to "learn" IR codes from an other remote.
Large database with all the standard codes.
    Touchscreen is accurate.

    Cons:
Only real con is that you cant make custom icons/add custom images to the remote (I cant, maybe they added this future in the new models.)
I own this remote for over 1.5 a 2 years now and its starting to show some damage after dropping it over 20+ times... the gray border is broken at a few places but this is not affecting the touchscreen. Think a logitech will show the same sort of damage after this many drops, the casing is plastic at both remotes.

For the ultimate remote control I would get an android tablet with an IR port. The Sony Tablet S, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" both have IR ports. Not sure if there are any 5" that have IR ports. I use a Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 5.0" tablet (was cheap only $100USD) I use this to control MP, but it can't control the TV.

I'm using now a lot of ways to control mp..

-Samsung Galaxy S III : AMPdroid
-Wireless XBOX 360 controller: Using Xpadder (works great)
-My voice: using voxcommando (really awesome, by example you say; "play movie avatar" and it works..)
-iMon remote control (soundgraph) really fine remote, and fully configurable

Also the new logitech remote controls are looking great!
