I have a question, I have a Pioneer Elite Plasma that is connected to my home network and I have a computer running XP Home and I have MP 2007 installed on it.
I am wanting to be able to view pictures and maybe play some small mpeg files on the pioneer. It has the ability to connect to a Windows Media Center (server) and access the files there through something called The Home Media Gallery and says
"The Home Media Gallery functions as a WMDRM10-ND (Microsoft Windows Media DRM for networked devices). Content can only be navigated from the media servers that support WMDRM10-ND".
What I am trying to figure out is can XP Home & MP 2007 be setup like a media center server to allow the connection? I do have XP Pro (just not installed at this time) if that would make the difference.
My network is managed by a Linksys WRT330N Gigabit Gaming Router and my system has a gigabit card with 1000mb data access between the two.
I am new to the Media Center concept and would really like to make my system work if at all possible without having to buy all new equipment.
Sooner or later I would like to setup a SATA raid configuration and rip all my DVD movies to hard drive and watch them from this computer using Media Portal 2007, I hope it is possible and not a pipe dream!
