My Programs question (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

Due to my recent update to the newest RC and the 10/13 SVN I'm having an issue with the "views" tab in the My Programs configuration menu. Simply put I want My Files to be the default when mediaportal starts and I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

I don't need any of the other views so I thought that deleting all the other options would default it to My Files. Nope, instead I still have to change views in mediaportal and select My Files even though there are no other options.

If anyone could help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Also is there an updated wiki on my programs as I've only been able to find the old one (which doesn't include the new "views" feature)?

long story short: MyPrograms is broken for over four months now and nobody cares. Workaround here.

I had actually tried that fix before and it had only partially fixed my problem (probably because I use my programs to primarily launch PC games). I think I did manage to fix it though (*fingers crossed*).

I deleted all lines in views then added a new one named "Games" with the following settings:

title (blank) (blank) (blank) icons titles [checkmark]

this caused another line to be created, I deleted the second line and this cleared all the settings in the first line however the "Games" view was still shown. When I clicked on the drop down boxes the original settings were still set. So I just saved it.

After a checking it a couple of times (closing media portal, configuring, etc) it still seems to be keeping My Files as the default.

Prior to this I also deleted the programs database file, because I was unable to add new games and this was the fix from another thread.


Hope this helps someone else.




BTW I knew that MyPrograms has been without support for some time and tried MyEmulators which I found to be lacking in what I needed it to do with PC games. Hopefully someone will help to revive MyPrograms as it is by far the part of MediaPortal that I use the most.

Well I supplied information on the SVN where the bug first occured and I know which dev made the changes. These changes only broke myProgramms and I still am trying to figure what he wanted to "fix" with his changes. Doesn't matter whatsoever, he isn't showing interest and I don't want to PM him.

this one error is destroying my project!!! finally got all the gear i need to get everything up and running... have had my programs running perfect before. but now i cant continue with my project till i have a fix for this.... does anyone know of links to the version before this issue started??
