Multiple users should be able to watch the same channel and you can watch via the internet but you will probably find bandwidth is a problem which is why i've been looking at transcoding.

so i've installed the plugin and restarted the tvServer then what?

I went to that link with all my channels and clicked on a channel. says web page cannot be found (firefox and IE).

I tried right clicking one of my channels and clicking copy link location then opening VLC -> Media -> Streaming... -> Network -> paste address -> Stream -> Stream.

Code:
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://127.0.0.1:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=20;'. Check the log for details.[code]main info: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
access_http error: cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:10000
access_mms error: cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:10000
main error: open of `http://127.0.0.1:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=20;' failed: could not create access
[/code]

i'm using the latest vlc

when i do either of the above methods the blue light starts on my tv tuner and I can see my self under streaming clients in the server config.

Have you checked the mediaportal error log?

The vlc log seems to be recieving the redirect to the vlc server address so if there is a problem it should be in the mediaportal error log.

hmm does this mean anything?

This is the error log after deleting it and making 1 attempt to stream with vlc.

Have you installed the latest SVN build of mediaportal.

Looking at the error log i'd say that is the problem.

I have the latest SVN snapshot.

I found out it didn't like 127.0.0.1 it prefers 10.1.1.2 instead for some reason.

The problem now is that only one client can be watching at a time. Also when a client leaves I have to restart the tvService before another one can join. The kick button under streaming clients doesn't do anything.

EDIT: Oh and sometimes the video plays at about 1fps.
Don't worry about it. I've been trying to play video on any non pinnacle software for about a week now and I think it is time to give up and deal with this pinnacle trash.

Yeah there are a few limitations at the moment that i'm trying to address in the next release. Interesting 127.0.0.1 didn't work i'll make sure to test that before I give out the next version.

I only suggest that after I have a reason to.

I would need to see your error log to help if you have installed the latest SVN.

Also the address is case sensitive (but if you got that wrong it should of given you a 404 error page).

Anyway happy to help just post your error log if you have one.

Well don`t have an error log, but yeah the screen is all blank, no error in the browser. So it seems it connects but... Any help would be appreciated. So I don`t even get the channels showing up.
