Thank you very much for your explanation, it's very clear.

I think it will be good to have the possibility to adjust the transcoding to a lower bitrate, depending on the upload speed of the internet connexion, and then to have the possibility to read the stream with MediaPortal!

Do you know the VODOBOX (see google)? It is a free open source software using VLC, allowing to stream live tv on the internet. With it you can select the transcoding rate. Don't you think there is a possibility to integrate some of the functions to your plugin? (Vodobox is in French but I don't think it is complicated to understand).

Thanks again for the great job, I think that after the Timeshifting, the Placeshifting is an important feature for MP!
And yes I saw the iPMP plugin, but the problem is the very low bitrate and the fact that you need to have the iphone!

One of the big reasons for the changes I did with StreamTv 2 was so I could add a form of transcoding support (but I want to get something playing on my PS3 first).

I'm glad that post cleared it up for you.

    Hi Valk, thank you for this plugin :D

    Is very helpfull to stream a live tv on non mp clients.

    Have you a timeline when the transcoding will be implemented?

    i need a solution to watch the stream with the windows media player.

    Hopefully transcoding isn't too far off, depends what sort of issues I run into (probably setting up the GUI will be the hard part).

    For now no timeline as such since i'm only working on this in my free time but it is the next big feature I want implemented :).

    Hi, great release! was about to post a request for Radio. Slight problem, im finding the video/audio starts, stops after 3 seconds and repeats itself. Any suggestions? (through VLC)

    Sadly at the moment radio is a tad hit and miss, it was a last minute addon that gave me more trouble then expected.

    I thought I got it stable before I released it but even now i'm having trouble with it so i'll have to say radio isn't supported for the moment until I find a solution.

    As for video i'm a tad surprised your having that issue, is the Tv channel HD? (i'm guessing not).

    thanks for the reply, however the above problem also effects TV. Plays for about 3 seconds, stops and then replays.

    Please HELP Me

    Hello,
    Thank you for making this great plug-in, it's just what I needed.

    Only problem is I am having trouble getting it to work with TVersity.

    I install the plugin into MediaPortal TV-Server and enable it. In TVersity I linked it to the RSS feed and wait for it to refresh. In the "Status" tab I see the following:

    Started refreshing ChannelList.rss

    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=1;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=2;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=3;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=4;
    Started downloading "http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts%3FChannelId=5;"
    Aborted downloading "http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts%3FChannelId=5;"
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=6;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=7;

    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=10;

    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=13;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=14;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=15;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=16;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=19;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=20;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=21;
    Error - Invalid or non audio/video URL http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=23;
    Error - Could not get url http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift?ChannelId=17;
    Successfully completed refreshing ChannelList.rss

    Then when I check the RSS feed at http://localhost:41952/flashlib, all I have is:
    7 HD Digital
    SBS 4
    ABC DiG Jazz
    SBS Radio 1
    SBS Radio 2

    When I click on one e.g. 7 HD Digital, I am left with the loading image and in the TVersity log it says:
    Started streaming "7 HD Digital" to "Flash Player"
    Error - Could not get media url for http://localhost:8080/TvServer/TimeShift.ts?ChannelId=5;

    I have tried refreshing the RSS feed multiple times, rebooted multiple time and reinstalled both TVersity and MediaPortal a couple times, with no luck. I know there is nothing wrong with the TV card as I was able to use it in the MediaPortal client without a problem.

    Software:
    Windows XP SP3
    MediaPortal TV-Server (latest)
    TVersity (latest)
    Windows Media Player 11
    K-Lite Codec Pack Full

    Hardware:
    Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
    Intel Pentium 4 2.26Ghz
    1GB Ram
    CMI8738/C3DX PCI Sound Card
    FusionHDTV DVBT-PRO (Digital + Analog Hybrid Card, I Only Use Digital)

    Any ideas would be great, this is the last piece to my media center and I really want to fix it!:D:D

    pagemaster what your trying to do there is the whole reason I started making this plugin :)

    Sadly Tversity tries to load multiple videostreams up at once and the plugin isn't designed to handle requests like that. Also there is another problem I noticed recently with how the query string is managed (which I have fixed in the test build) which might also be the main problem for tversity (I haven't tried it against tversity yet).

    When I get a release working with something like tversity or ps3mediaserver i'll put a big notice on the main post :) (hopefully i'm too far off).

    On a good note I'm getting closer each time I try.

    Ok well radio should work now with the latest release (I couldn't get it to cut out after 3 seconds anymore).

    Hopefully this is a stable release now (no video randomly cutting out).

    You can now set the delay time before it tries to stream the video / audio but I suggest you don't go any lower than the defaults (you might get away with lowering the video delay time), TvServer needs time to start timeshifting which is why those delays exist. Every system is different so you might have better luck with a different delay.

    Any trouble feel free to ask, oh if you try ps3mediaserver use a powerful computer since it likes to transcode the video using vlc, my laptop seems to do SD ok but just dies trying to do HD. I have got mixed results of it working or just cutting out randomly so see how you go.

    If you want RTSP streams add to the query string RTSP=true , this also works for the channelList.rss eg. http://127.0.0.1:8080/TvServer/ChannelList.rss?RTSP=true but if you use rtsp I have no way of telling if your connected or not so the heatbeat isn't triggered and the stream won't be cut off after you disconnect (but if you try and connect to another stream on the same computer it should disconnect you), I added RTSP support as something to try.
