Start playing a tvseries on network share
    Pause video
Wait for network share pc to timeout and go to sleep
Try to replay video, it wont work because it can't access network share
    Press stop
Retry playing the video again still will not work,
there is no way to get mediaportal/tvseries to play the video,
only way to get it to work is to manually send a WOL packet

    Suggestion:

When playing a network share video tvseries should send a WOL packet regardless

    Additional Suggestion:

In my tvseries configuration there is an option called
[X] Send WOL packet to wake any network share locations in advance when loading tvseries plugin

The idea behind this is as soon as you enter the plugin the network share is woken up so you don't have the 3-5 second delay on playing a network shared episode in tvseries.

I thought this was already handled via a 3rd party plugin "WOL-PowerManager" (might be different one for v1.2+)?

    Hi there,

I'm not sure if that plugin only sends a WOL packet when entering the plugin.

In the above situation, you would already be in the plugin - so would it send another WOL packet when you hit resume?

    You have two options:

While paused/stopped (prevent the remote device from going to sleep - maybe send keepalives)
When playback starts/resume wake the device (but will require time for the remote device to wake)

Plugin seems configurable to the MePo screen entered, so I thought perhaps it could simply look for Fullscreen playback screen. This will add a small delay to the actual playback started, but the same would be true with a direct MP-TVSeries implementation. The benefit of the plugin is that it works for everything, MovPic/MyVideos/etc.

Another way would be look at the sleep settings on the NAS.
