Hello,

I use to define 2 folders for my movies : 1 for myself with a pincode and 1 for my kids. This 2 folders are physically located in my documents or more generally in a second level directory. To do this I use the "videos folders" section in the "videos" section of the MP configuration. For each folder created I use the album as default view. And I check my kids movies folder to go directly in it when I use MP.

Here is the problem, when I launch MP and go to my videos, the kids movies directory is directly open which is fine. But the icons disposition is the List and the album. And if I want to change it directly in MP using the menu on the left, the 1st icon area usually call "layout :" is just blank and I can not change it.

Apparently, this problem does not occur using the default directory at the 1st installation of MP.

Hope it will fix because I do not want to use another plugin for movies than the one installed by default in MP.

:D for your help.

Note : I make the log file on an other computer using W7 64. I have exactly the same thing with XP SP3.

    Hi

    I think screenshots would help us understand what the problem is.

    For me, using a 'non standard' default directory and changing view works fine.

    Screenshots, no problem, here they are :D.
    On MP-0.jpg, you will see the configuration of the folder.
    On MP-1.jpg, you will see the results in the videos folders sections.
    On MP-2.jpg, you will see what I have in MP, with the 1st icon just blank.

    Thanks

    That's weird because I have a 2 folder setup similar to yours and I have tried 5 skins and cannot reproduce this, so something is very wrong your end, just got to figure out what.

    Can you delete your cached skin files found under user files link in start menu, so in your case Blue3\Wide folder needs to be deleted

    I just delete my cached skin and the problem is not solved. As I said, I have the same problem on 2 different configs.
    I am going to uninstall one of my config (test one) delete everything manually and re-install it. I will let you know if it is solved.

    Read you

    edit : I made a fresh install and still the same. But one new thing. I keep the original My Videos folder. And in this one, I can change the icons aspects.
    edit#2 : One more thing, if I switch view to something else than share (ie genres or actors), the layout button is available.

    I made a last test. If I configure my folders like on the picture joined, I have no more problems except for the one called Test.
    Is there something wrong with second level directory ? In this example, the 2 directories directly under D: work fine, but the one under My videos does not.

    I can confirm that the "view changer" buttun inside the MP2 GUI does not work/has no text if you use "album" as default view.

    0002976: using "album" as default view on a folder causes that the "view button" inside the GUI has no lable and does not work - MediaPortal Bugtracker

    @all
    to be able to reproduce the issue you must:
    1. delete the FolderDatabase3.db3
    2. go to configuration.exe -> Videos
    3. change "default view" for the folder to "album"
    By just changeing the view inside the GUi to album, you can NOT reproduce that error.

    It seems to me that this issue is an achient one which just none else noticed yet. :)

    :D for reproting
