My Weather - Stuck on one City (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to confirm whether this is an isolated ocurrence or if anyone else out there has a similar problem. I have around 8 cities listed under My Weather, I am no longer abe to select another one off of my list, it will only display the weather information contained within current.xml If i do select another city i am able to view the images for that city but the weather information from the weather channel which is not being changed. I am currently using the project mayhem 3 skin (very nice!) but this problem exists with all the skins i try. My internet connection is adsl and i suspect no problem as the images within my weather are current and get updated and internet radio fires up within 2-3 seconds (using winamp plugin)

This is the relevant part of the log, i'm not too knowledgeable about these things but could "MyWeather.SkipConnectionTest: False" be part of the problem?

I'd appreciate any help as this is a feature i use every day

Hi,
Just tested here with the latest svn--09-02-2006--00-58-Rev10117.
& it works, only using to cities & switch between them changes the pictures & information (I too have "MyWeather.SkipConnectionTest: False" in my log).

Let's see if any other can confirm?

Thanks for trying, this is a weird one. I tried a fresh install of MP and got the same problem!!

Back to my original MP setup and if i remove the old currentwx.xml and leave the weather folder empty of xml files it is forced to try and download information and that shows up the problem, i get the following message

[Info.] MyWeather.Download: No internet connection 81

Now why this is there i have no idea, the connection is unchanged from before and it works fine with other internet aspects of MP.

I am unsure how myweather is accessing the internet and if anyone can give me some clues i'd be very grateful. I recently applied some windows updates, might these have closed a port (you might guess i'm getting a bit of my depth here



Essentially why would myweather think there is no internet connection when there is?

I used system restore a number of times and i discovered that the download of Internet Explorer 7 RC1 that i had installed was causing the problem. As soon as i restored to before its installation the my weather was back to normal. Its a pity as i thought the new zoom feature on ie7 would be useful for an HTPC and it is. Oh well i'll try Opera next which has something similar.
