Hello,

I am trying to get MyFilms plugin to work with Mymovies database. I can import the database without any problem, but can not get any movies to play. I keep getting different "insert disc" messages depending on how I configure the plugin. Its a bit confusing because the options match up with fields in ANT and not MyMovies.

Can somone who has this working please attach a pic of their working settings, or list out what variable they have for each option in the configuration? Maybe a explanation what what options match to what fields in MyMovies would help also.

:D

Oh and THANK YOU for adding MyMovies support :D

I tried what was listed in that thread but couldnt get a movie to launch. I tried the URL setting to no avail. Since the ability to use MyMovies with My Films is new, there isnt too much info on the forums yet.

To give more info, my files are stored on a network drive in VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO format. I have the basic network path setup correctly and even got myfilms to launch a movies a few times, but when I went back to launch it at a later time I would get the "insert disc" message.

If somone who has it working could past how they have their configuration setup I could just use that as a guide. If nobody is able to do that I can start posting what all I have tried. I just think it would be easier for me to copy somones setup then to have others troubleshoot what is probably user error by me :)

Thanks!

If your files are stored on a network drive and if you succeeded to launch a movie priorly, try to explore your network path with Windows explorer before launching the movie. As Windows XP doesn't reconnect
network drives after a reboot, MP cann't access to those drives.

I am having the same problems. I am using a local drive C:\Movies. My films are a mix of VIDEO_TS and some other formats as I have converted them. Everything gives me the Insert Disc prompt. I can see that URL is the field where the path is stored.
My Videos seems to launch the files okay. I have tried exporting the XML again and rebuilding the _tmp xml. Still trying.
I would also appreciate a screenshot of a working setup.

I am using Vista, and verified its not a network path/connecton issue. I opened the network share and movie outside of MP, then tried from inside without luck. One of the few times I did get the movie to actually open from My Films, I then stopped the movie, then went back to the selection list and tried to open it again and got the "Insert Disk" message.

Zebons, if you could list out what the variables in My Films correspond to inside My Movies (ex: URL = exactly what entry in the xml from My Movies), I would test and then write up a "How To" for MyMovies.

In the meantime if anyone has it working, if they could post a screenshot....;)

Thanks!

I'm on XP MCE by the way. I am sure this will/can work. First one with a working configuration(with VIDEO_TS folder structure) gets a cookie:D

Hmm, I'm relatively new to both MyMovies and MP:MF, but I'll give some tips regarding stuff I ran into while configuring my own install. I'll propably give some screenies etc that doesn't have anything to do with your problem, but they might be useful to others.

Currently, I'm running;
Windows XP SP2
Media Portal v0.2.3.0 final w/ SVN 01-31-2008 Revision:17231
MyFilms 4.4.1.1 SVN-edition
(thou, everything worked just fine with stable release)
MyMovies 2.42

I've now got everything besides HDDVD/BluRay (raw) supported. All .iso/.img/.avi/.mpg files are working, and I even got .mkv working just fine, by following this guide.

If the movie consists of a single file, you'll have to use the Online (File)-selection of the disc in MyMovies. I know MyMovies supports having multiple .avi-files f.ex, and use the Online (Folder)-selection to play them all, but this doesn't seem to be supported by MP or MP:MF. You can ofcourse have as many discs as you'd like, using the Online (File)-selection on all of them. You'll then be able to select wich disc to play inside MyFilms.

In your case, as you wan't to play VIDEO_TS-folders (DVD-R), you can't use the Online (Folder)-selection in MyMovies. In order to be able to play it in MP:MF, you'll need to use Online (File) (2), and point it to the VIDEO_TS.IFO-file located in the VIDEO_TS-folder (3). Export the XML, and import it into MyFilms using the settings from the screenie below.

To test this even further, I copyed some VIDEO_TS-folders to some other computers on the network here, and used both \\computername and \\ip-adress, working just fine. Mounting a network-share to a local drive, and setting it to automount on startup, is my reccomended solution though.

edit: Sorry that my screenies fucked up the thread ^^

Thanks for the reply! I will try this later today. I believe my issue is i was editing my MyMovies to point to the actual IFO file. By default MyMovies just points to the root movie directory (ex for the movie "Casino" it pointed to the CASINO folder).

I noticed this before but was under the impression that My Films would recognize there was a VIDEO_TS folder inside it and find the IFO automatically.

I will post later once I give all this a try.

:D
