While installing RC1 I use MySQL 5.0 for the database. Server is on a Win XP Prof. PC.
I read about MySQL 5.1.

It is necessary to install 5.1 for RC1, maybe there are some benefits for the new version?

Running Win7 and have MySQL5.1 installed by MP here, so think there may be some compatibility issues with XP, thats why you have older version, missed the whys and wherefors regarding exactly why this is done, but be assured 5.1 is being installed on OS's that can support it.
