    I had the same problem. I uninstalled the beta and than installed it again. But this time i choos also to install the mysql server again. That solved the problem, and no data was lost.

    Good luck.

    Hi. Try the following:
    - Uninstall MP + MySQL
    - Find you userfiles - not sure where it is in Win7, but XP is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data.
    ---> Delete the MySQL folder
    ! -> This will delete any custom settings you've done w/MySQL, so if you use MySQL for something else, this might not be the best idea.
    - Install MP (which will DL an reinstall MySQL)

    Oh, and JIC: Default password is "MediaPortal" ;)
