I talked to the guy that wrote the apple trailers plugin for meedio. I know nothing about coding but he said he would probably release the source code if someone really wanted to pick this up. I posted one of his posts here awhile back. He said the backend could pretty much work for anything... someone would just need to rewrite the code for MP.

Could you ask him what language he wrote the meedio plugin in?

    Hi,

AFAIK this isn't easy. My Trailers uses WMP to playback the trailers. With the quicktime alternative codecs I haven't been able to get streaming .mov's working. Maybe it's just me... ;)

    Kind regards,
    Michel

This was posted back on like page 4 or so from the creator of the apple plugin for meedio. He set up a site to where someone could download the source code for this.. but it is no longer there. :( I messaged him over at the MP forums and maybe he will get back to me with a new link or post here... I gave him this forums thread....

"It is written in C# and the logic is seperate from the meedio plugin to allow for the same backend code to be used in different applications."

Yep, GotDotNet managed to delete or at least damage my project during some upgrade so I quickly left it and moved to SourceForge so it is checked into CVS.

As for being able to actually play the trailers in MediaPortal, there are many ways for local files but streaming there is only one good way and that is to use the new QuickTime 7 control. I have some working proof of concept code in Meedio so I know this does work.

    Hi all

I started on a Quicktime trailer plugin using the Quicktime control. It works, but needs a lot of work.
Due to life/work and allike, I can't continue my work on this for now, so if anyone wants to finish it, go ahead.

Thanks to Zipperzip and bradsjm for providing me with the basis for starting on this. It could be pretty cool if finished. And the quality is excellent.

EDIT: 05/03 - Added the waitcursor. It can take a while to get all the trailer urls

Not sure if this has been discussed, but what are the chances of using this to not only look at trailers but to see what movies are playing at local theaters?

I am wondering if anyone has gotten the QT trailers plugin to work. I can't even get it to display the first screen. It just gives me a black screen and says missing file. The directory within the rar file is the bluetoo 12xx by 7xx skin. I downloaded that to make sure that was not the only skin supported and this changed nothing.

Has anyone else downloaded this and tried it out? Here are the links again.
