Nice to see you back , so all of the time you can put in the plugin is well appreciated.

I think one of the best would be updating the first post of this thread and keeping it up-to-date. Infos, how to install, know issues/bug, know feature requests/todo (wich is not a list of that what you will do, only that what is requested, mark it bold and red) , call it faq if you want. we can contribute the content, you will put it in there.
New users won't read the entire thread and we can not require this. (35+ pages)

Here my first content for the post. Hope that this is not a problem for you, just want to help, if it sounds negative i will remove it.

• Uploading future versions to the repository would be good, so users found all plugins on one page and won't have to search the forums for downloading from different sources.
• Latest versions, a working version should uploaded to the repository, need included sources (hope that i am not wrong)

Hi weetoddid, great to see you back in business!

A bug I´m experiencing:
The chosen parser (regular expressions in my case)isn´t remembered between imports, this totally ruines the in-mediaportal-import-feature, since you have to go into the configuration to choose parser. This feature is at least for me, very important to the everyday use of the plugin.

Another bug is the '. When i try to import gilligans island i get a series entrie for each epsoide i have.

Feature request:
It would be nice to have a random video feature, where it would play a random video

Hey guys. Just catching up on things here at MP. Took a look at the latest version of the My TV Series plugin. I noticed alot of work has been done on the import sides of things since I as last involved in it. Great Job.

I have a few hours a week I could spend programming, so I figured I would continue helping out.

I figured I would start by corrrecting any issues/bugs (if any), then work on some new features that people have requested.

Am I stepping on anybody's toes here? Or is this cool?

It looks like zeflash has taken an interest in development.
Are you or zeflash interested in creating a project on SF?
That way you, zeflash, Salty and maybe others can
all work on it. (also speeding up development).

Hello,
I've just re-installed MP 0.2.0.4 and i now use last My TV Series 0.41.
Something annoying compared to previous version : i do not have anymore mouse hot-track. I have to scroll and then click on the episode i want to play.
It works fine in the rest of MP (Music, Video...).
Did you notice that ?

Hey Guys,

I guess the first thing I should do is get the latest source codes of this plugin.. I was hoping its was the MP CVS, but I could not find it.

I will need to chat with everyone who has contributed to this plugin. The first thing I will do is update the authors to include them. The next thing will be to update the plugin repository with the latest and most current version.

Is there anything that is currently being worked on by anyone? I don't want to step on anyone's toes. Until I figure that out, I think I should start working on the GUI's inside MP (as that has not really changed yet since a left).

Just some random points....

Has anyone seen the imdb.com site lately, they have an area of tv shows. its alot simpler to parse that information making the import process alot quicker. Unfortunately, there is no images. The plus side is that IMDB does not change the layout of data.... This mean one could pretty much garantee the parsing of data.

Have anyone seen the new skin called "Project Mayhem 3"? MY TV Series looks amazing in it. It is now my default skin...

This sounds like a great idea. I am more than happy to do this... the only problem is that I don't yet know the state of the plugin. If you have time, Maybe you could help us build a list? If you are on MSN, please add me as a contact.

I really want to assist Salty, Zeflash and anyone else with this plugin. As soon as I chat with him, I'll have a clear idea of what he wants me to do.

Have been using this plugin daily for two months, can't live without it
Reading through the entire tread solved alot of my problems with this plugin, but I have some that maybe you want to look into.

Trying to play Special Episodes quits MediaPortal.
Can't get Banner import to work on all series (Eureka, Psych, Survivor, Top Gear...)
Problem to import foreign series (Life on Mars...)

Let me get up to speed first and I'll help you out...

I agree with Patrick, if multiple people want to participate in the plugin's development, we need to have the sources somewhere (SF sounds good).
Edit:
In fact, I took the liberty of submitting a project registration request in SF - I used the GPL license. Hope everyone's fine with this. Given the request could take up to 2 days to be processed, you have time to protest until I start checking code in
I intend to use SVN by the way - it's much more efficient than CVS.

Multiple coders means compromises though - we would need to agree on where the dev should go, how we should do things, etc.
But I believe that in the end it's the best way to have a project that grows steadily.
