Should I implement an automatic file organizer to move and rename files?

I am not sure but if the plugin is in a status where it is stable, have an "easy" & stable configuration, and some people will continously work on it, which does not mean that they have to work out heavy new features, i think it is important to keep the plugin working over the time, then it will probably go back to the main sources of MediaPortal, so there is no need for an extra project.

But i am not sure, you/we have to talk to the team, when the time is come.

The thing is, it won't be stable enough for being included in MP before some time - and having multiple persons working on the same code needs to have some kind of source control, to prevent code collisions mainly, and to be able to enter comments along with checkins.

So I believe that in the meantime (until the code is stable & robust enough) it's better to use SF as an independent project that can grow.
The alternative would be to host a SVN server somewhere - I never did that before, don't know how complicated it would be.

If people feel a bit wary about using SF, I'll investigate a local hosting solution.

Yes, you are right, thought about it an forgot to add that until the "stable status" another solution is needed. So a standalone project is a good choice.

Perhaps it could be possible to get a branch or a trunk, i simply call it section in MediaPortal's svn (http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mediaportal) so that it isn't included in the main svn, like stable patches or MediaPortalNG. I think WeeToddDid, as first creator of the plugin and as a member of Portal Developer group could ask an project admin (dman, mPod or so http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediaportal).
I am really not sure, it's just an idea. I don't know if it is quicker, easier or better to create own project. It's your desicion, you are the dev's.
I am one of the users and have to say thank you for putting your free time in the project. ;) :D

Seeing how the project now seems registered on sf.net may I ask to also get dev access. I can't help out much but I'm motivated to help whenever I can and fix bugs that bother me.

That being said, I really like that fluxxx.net site for banners. Has anybody spoken to the site owner about parsing their images yet? If that is not OK, users could still manually drop banners into a folder, but support for it in some way would be awesome.

    Keep it up :)
