Synopsis::

As this is my first post I think I should express my congratulations on producing such a fine application! I have a few niggles though one of which is described below.

I can't seem to get the MyWeather plugin to work. When I select it from the main menu screen, I get a "Unable to get weather data" dialog.

The following excerpt from MediaPortal.log may help:

Code:
13/05/2006 12:33:34 window:MediaPortal.GUI.Weather.GUIWindowWeather init
13/05/2006 12:33:34 MyWeather.SkipConnectionTest: False
13/05/2006 12:33:34 MyWeather.Download: No internet connection 81

Is there any reason why it is unable to pick up my internet connection - WebEPG and MyNews have no problems.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I found that thread and tried it last week. Bit of a long shot as I'm not behind a proxy!

Have you any other suggestions?

Additionally, I have just tried installing MP on my laptop, and bizarrely MyWeather works perfectly.

I've tried switching off the firewalls on my htpc (where I experience my problem), but still can't get the weather info. The laptop and htpc both share the same router, so that's not the problem either.

I noticed that the error message mentions 81 - could this be a port number? If so it's the same one as mediaportal webinterface, which I'm running. Could this be a conflict? I've uninstalled mpw, but MyWeather still reports an error.

I'll keep trying.

I Got the same on my XP.

I delete the XP user og data, then I create it again.

Now it works.

What do you mean the "XP user og data"? Sounds promising though...

In Controlpanel, select User manager. Point on the User, and select Delete user. When it ask to delete data, say Yes.

That sounds a little harsh. There doesn't appear to be any MediaPortal information stored in the Documents & Settings folder, so I'm not sure how this would help.

I'm reluctant to do this unless there is a good reason...

Thanks for the idea though - I can keep it on the back burner for now.
