Is there a V6 available to test, I have read elsewhere you have made fixes and upgrades past V5 ?

If I remember correctly only some minor fixes are made after v5. If all goes well the BD support will be part of the 1.3.0 alpha.

Im new to this thread and am following with interest seeing as native bluray support is the next big step forward for MP imo.

Can anyone tell me though.. if this current wip still doesnt support encrypted discs, how is it any different to any of the other native attempts at a bluray plugin? Surely 90% of discs are encrypted, and as such still wouldnt be supported (short of buying/'borrowing' AnyDVD HD) any more than previous attempts.

    Hi,

    Look first page :)

    Code:
    Unsupported features

BD-J is not supported - all BD-J based blu-ray disks need to be played without menus.
Text based subtitles aren't supported - only a small minority of blu-ray disks seems to use text based subtitles.
Encrypted blu-ray disks aren't suppored - tools like AnyDVD HD need to be used for majority of the commercial disks

How about complete integration of Blu-ray navigation (Main & Popup menus) with the internal player? ;)

Yes I've read the original post but I was just making the point that most discs are encrypted aren't they? So the plugin won't work for most blurays unless you buy anydvd?

Correct (or an alternative like DVDFab Decrypter)

Wow, thanks for the info, i never knew that DVDFab had a free dvd/bluray decrypter! Can i set this to launch on windows startup and use it in the background with this plugin? I always thought that the only way to decrypt and play blurays on a PC was to buy AnyDVD HD (which isnt too cheap and only lasts for 2 years at a time).

    Passkey from DVDFab...
but the Free Passkey don't decrypt all Blurays, only when you pay for a Key ;)

I use Passkey with reg.Key and it works fine... i also make iso Backups from my BluRays with Passkey
