I need to crop black borders in TV so, I'm trying to seput MP and ffdshow 2004 ver. together. The problem I get with TV if I use postprocessing with ffdshow, is a TV screen where the first 2/3 on the left shows the whole TV images and the last 1/3 on the right is a green swath without image. So the TV image is resized in the first 2/3 of the screen. I tried with different decoders (Cyberlink NVidia WinDVD Intervideo) with both my TV cards: Twinhan DVB-T CI and ATI Sapphire theatrix 550. I tried different versions of FFdshow but I get always this problem.
I don't get the problem in DVD or movies with postprocessing.
You can see my hardware in my signature...
Using MP 0.2.0 RC2 with CVS 10/03/2006 last NVidia drivers
Any suggestion? Thanks

Yes. I have the exact same problem when I use nVidia's Fullscreen from Overlay. The top 20% of the video is green with a buncha artifacts, pixelation and other garbage intermixed. Major pain for sure. Makes anything unwatchable. is it possible to use VCL's codecs? Im not sure if they use ffDshow or not, but that thing will play just about anything you throw at it.

With NVidia Drivers do you mean VGA drivers or PureVideo Codec? I suppose NVidia Drivers, because with other decoders I get always the same problem! What you mean with VCL's codecs?
We need a solution I need ffDshow at least to crop the TV Image on left and right.

the green bar shows no matter what codec I use. It dosnt show in MP wain window(when windowed) but on my TV when I have nVidia's Fullscreen from Overlay option enabled. And by VLC's codecs, I am speaking of a media viewing app called VLC. Its and open source project that can play just about any video format without the need to install ANY codecs. They are built right in. I think it uses a linux driver libMpeg2 or something.

So I suppose the problem is a beat different because I get the problem if MP is in Window and also if it is in full screen mode.
I installed MP and everything on a new fresh Win XP MCE system. I don't understand what is wrong... I tried everithing
Cheers

I haven't yet found a solution... And I don't think this happens only in my system...
I wait for some considerations.

I havn't tried ffdshow untill last night and configured on one channel (Boxer - TV4) and was quite pleased with cropping and reseizing. But when I changed channel to another (Boxer - SVT2) I got the same problems you decribe, green etc.

Another thing I can remember is that on SVT2 at programme changes I sometimes looses picture, ie it turns black (lost picture not lost signal). I have thus far regarded it as freaky bugs but now I wonder if these are related incidents.

Since I find NVidia Pure video codecs enought to give me images of quality (very good fluidity and deinterlacing), I want to use ffdshow only to crop the TV images (my big issue now). So if I find a way to zoom/crop a bit images from TV to avoid black borders I will be satisfied. But till now I haven't found a good way to crop TV images on my system. I have a 32 LCD TV and I use VGA connection to see PC TV and everything.
ffdshow seams till now my only solution, but it doesn't work...
Any new suggestion?
Thanks
