(need a crop feature in MP) FFDshow with TV-1/3 green screen (2 Viewers)

the Crop Feature was allways discussed only by a few users.
I can't believe that this "problem" with black boarders or garbage
around the TV-Picture not occours by many users. Everybody
who uses mp on a flat tv or crt via vga or dvi must have this
"problem". it isn't really a problem , but i looks not very nice.
A feature in MP would be the resolution. WinTV for example
makes also a cropping for the overscan area. But this is done
in the WinTV App, not in the Driver. I am using MP for 1 year or
longer now, and this was allways a problem for me. Sometimes
ffdshow work , then again not , then again and so on and so on.

Completely agree with You. I'm using MP for 1 year too and with my previus configuration I solved the problem with FFdshow. Now I don't understand why but i can not run ffdshow.
If I use the TV Cards I have in my HTPC, in MCE, the black borders problem disappear...And also with most of other MM solutions.
MP is great for its flexibility and for the fact that is always in development.
A crop feature for the TV is a leak that in my opinion should be fixed soon.
I think everybody using a TV card with MP has this kind of problem.
I hope if we all together report the problems something can happen.

I have exactly your same situation: only in some channels i get the TV image resized in 2/3 of the screen, with ffdshow.
I tried in the correct size channels to crop the image and using a resize of 1280x1024 and a zoom of 3-4(in crop/zoom) I can crop black borders from TV image, the problem is that with my configuration and ffdshow I get a TV that is no more fluid, it has some stops every 2-3 seconds...
So, I disabled ffdshow but the problem remain...how to crop black borders from TV Images?

Regarding this subject: Is it not custom for ordinary digital boxes to crop the image some 95% from its original size?

If soo it would make perfect sense to have a cropping/resizeing feature built-in to MP.

Sure, every TV, stb crop the TV image of about 5% on the 4 sides so in my opinion a crop function in MP is welcome indeed.
But now is not implemented and I need a solution soon, because see what heppens at the extreme side of Tv images, bother me very much! And I think is not my problem only.
