Greetings! I just installed MP and I'm not having any luck getting it working. It's acting like the card doesn't work. I have a Hauppauge WinTV Go Plus (878 based card) that worked with it's own software. MP detects it as a Hauppauge WinTV Express, but shouldn't it be detecting it as a Hauppauge WinTV 878 based card?
When I scan for channels it doesn't detect any and when I try to edit the card it complains that it is unable to create graph for the device. Am I barking up the wrong tree with the card being detected incorrectly? I don't even know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

It looks like the Hauppauge WinTV Go Plus is a "software encoding" analog TV card and these are generally not supported with MP v0.2.2.0. However, it may be possible to get your card supported, but I don't think that your hardware is up to the task ... :(

Please refer here for more information.

    Taipan-
Thanks for your reply! I did manage to get it working by following this:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Supported_TVCard_Analog_Software_Encoding/HauppaugeWinTV878based
and setting the card to NTSC TV Broadcast @ 29fps.
But you were right, the system just can't handle it and it's jerky and pretty much locks up the system. :(
I also think I've had this card too long and can't return it. :(
I wonder what's the cheapest card that will encode itself and has a remote?

    Thanks again for your help!

I don't have any personal experience with them, but if you want a good hardware encoding analog card with a remote, then the Hauppauge ones are very popular with MediaPortal users. The PVR-150 is a good example ... :)

Alright, I just picked up the PVR-150 and man, that was way easier to install! Picture is pretty bad, though...
Any thoughts? Let the searching begin!
    Thanks again for the advice!
