Forgive me if this is the wrong place for this, but it's the best I found. Trying to set up a computer with Mediaportal for someone over the net. He has a small local Cable-distributor named Loqal, but I have only worked with DVB-T before and there all I had to do was to select my closes broadcasting tower and press scan. I've done some googleing and it seems that I need to use SymbolRate 6875 (whatever that is) but the only preset I get for DVB-C in Norway is "GET - Oslo" and that uses SymbolRate 6900 when it scans. So I get no result there. What do I need to do to get this working? Edit: Ok I did a few searches with some of the other presets. There is finnish one (VLP) that detects some of the channels. I open it up, and find this: <DVBCTuning> <Frequency>418000</Frequency> <ModulationType>Mod64Qam</ModulationType> <SymbolRate>6875</SymbolRate> </DVBCTuning> So if I am correct, I can find frequences in another program or on the TV I should be able to just edit this file and give it a new name correct? Should I submit the new file somewhere for others to use? Edit 2: Ok just did a complete scan in the 6875 global preset but only found 9 of the channels they broadcast, there should be alot more. Anyone got any suggestions?
