Hi,

since this morning I have a very strange acting of the MP-Client Configuration Programm .

It all began with a blue screen after configuring the PowerScheduler Client pluging. When I was finishing the MP-Config I got a blue screen and the PC was rebooting.

From then on I have a .NET error (see Attachement) starting and finishing the MP-Config programm.

Has any body any ideas, what it is, or better what I can do to solve it?

Here is the text from the detail tab. I put it in an attachment, because it's kind of long. Hope it helps finding the error.

Hi Simone,

Your xml config file is corrupted. Try renaming it and generate a new one.
Simone

could you please tell me the name of the config file and maybe the directory where to find it? :D

I didn't find any .xml file which has a config in its name ...

Go to %ProgramData%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
and rename the MediaPortal.xml

That's what I already did and it didn't help.

I renamed the one under Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal and the other one in C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal too without having changed anything.

After renamning both files, mediaportal.xml and mediaportal.xml.bak in C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal I got any changes in the behavier of the config programm. It asked for the modus standard or expert (usally it's going to expert modus) but still had the same error ...

And thx for the quick answers :)

Alexander

Well it didn't help renaming the MedaiPortal.xml file(s).

Any more ideas?

I solved with the "German-Holzhammer-Methode".

On my Office-PC I have another MP-Client Installation, so I renamed the %ProgrammData%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal directory on my Media-PC and copied the directory from the Office-PC at it's place. All I had to do was to reconfigure quite a few things and now it's running error free again :)

It must have been one of the files in that directory that broke back getting the blue-screen. Well maybe I'm might just copy back the saved directory file by file to find it out ...

Thanks for your help, it showed me the place there to look at.
