Netflix plugin (NetflixAlpha) (1 Viewer)

Hi!

Today I have a "new" version of plugin in, say, release candidate.
There was a lot of changes, so I would like to ask you guys for testing, before I put it in MP repo.
I would also like to mark it as stable.

Features

• User custom genres (webservice registration required. http://netflixalpha.bcy.cz/

1. After loging in (https://www.dropbox.com/s/csl1s9fidih5q4k/0_login.JPG)
2. Choose customize genres (https://www.dropbox.com/s/lgnrvkzye3403bd/1_customize_genres.JPG)
3. Enable desired genre and set it as root genre (https://www.dropbox.com/s/5001qyunldjq1on/2_enable_genre_and_set_root.JPG). This will show enabled genre in root menu of custom genres section in plugin.
4. You can also select sub genres (for example British action movies can be shown under Action and adventure titiles) (https://www.dropbox.com/s/l7c81z1vtcirmdh/3_set_sub_genre.JPG)

• Loging is now done in to separate file.
• Trailers plugin is now supported. Plugin must be installed and enabled in order to be used. You can find trailers in context menu on movie titles.
• Titan skin reworked and included in installer.
• NFplayer should prohibit running system screensaver (Not MPs yet).

Fixes

• GUI fixes.
• Fixed annoyng behavior when moving between instance queue after playing movie.
• Fixed error when returning from series listing in search.

In case you find errors, please be patient and report it back to me.
There was lot of changes, so there might be some glitches.

Looks good... I no longer get the error message when showing the Instant Queue... awesome!

I often browse netflix on phone/tablet/laptop for something for the kids to watch, and then start it on the TV with your plugin. However, if I already have the Instant Queue shown in MediaPortal, the new entry is not retrieved.

Is there a way to to force the plugin to refresh the instant queue? Currently, I have to exit MP to refresh the list.

Hi.
that is good idea!
I will implement queue reload and also, clearing instant queue upon adding new item in plugin.

Its not done always because of performance issues.

Now you can customize your Genres (using login in webservices), for example adding For kids genres.
Then you can browse within plugin.

Ya, I did that to try the webservices implementation out... kids are already using it

Newest version seems to be working quite well. The only complaint I have is with the "I am done watching" popup. I suspect it is there to prevent interaction with MP and the remote while watching Netflix but it is somewhat cumbersome. Several times my wife has accidently pressed the OK button too long on the remote and consequently it starts and then stops the Netflix thinking that the "I am done watching" Ok was pressed. Surely there must be a better way. Any chance of getting rid of it?

Hi.
There is only one reason (technical) and that is, that disposing browswer object in which is Silverlight loaded, does not always go well.
That is the reason, why external player is used.

I understand, that its not very good for usability and I will think of something for next releases.

Your Netflix plugin is awesome and allowed me to dump TiVo completely as the DVR/Netflix solution after demo'ing to the Wife (Wife acceptance factor for MP + Netflix Alpha 10/10). Two small requests if possible. Any way a small buffer can be put in before playback begins, say 10-15 seconds? This may assist in getting HD movies to a more pleasant viewing state prior to playback starting. Also, any way the queue can be kept on file and refreshed in its entirety upon request instead of having to fetch the multiple pages at a time? Is this a limitation of the API? Just a couple of suggestions. Thanks for the great work.

I love this plugin but was wondering if you could make a quick skin file for 1080p? I'm using One Portal but unfortunately I don't know anything about skinning and I feel that this awesome plugin isn't on the priority list for the One Portal author.

Thank you, love to hear that you are happy with it.
1. Play buffer is completely controlled by Nentflix player application (which is lunched in browser window), so there is little I can do, sorry.
2. I understand, that it can be painfull to load multiple pages. I divide instant queue to multiple pages, because otherwise first load would take very long to finish.
After first load, items are already cached in local database, and things are very fast.
What I can do, is let you controll number of items per page.
That way, you can choose number of items loaded at first opening.
What do you think?
