Network Share Issue (1 Viewer)

I was hoping someone may be able to help me with this issue. I have been using Mediaportal on my PC for years and absolutely love everything about it.

I finally decided to get a pc for the living room in order to set Mediaportal up on the TV properly. I purchased the following from Ebay and it all looks to be working fine.

I wiped it and installed Windows 7 and then installed a fresh copy of the latest Mediaportal and Streamed MP.

In the configuration for My Tv Series and Moving Pictures I put the paths as network shares to my other machine connected to the network. I can access this through Windows relatively quickly. The config for Moving pictures and My Tv series picked up everything within the share without a problem.

The problem is that when I access both of these within Mediaportal nothing seems to happen. The screen changes as if it is going into My Tv series but nothing ever loads. It's as if its taking an age to load from the share or maybe its just hanging (I can still go back though). I've left it like that for a good few minutes and nothing ever loads.

Any ideas if I'm doing anything wrong, should I be doing things differently when accessing shares?

Any advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Are you using a password to connect to the shares? If so it might be the case that MP is not able to open the share.

If you can provide logs (see my footer) we can check.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm at work at the moment and stupidly disabled the network card whilst remoted to the machine earlier. Will check it out when I get home and get back to you.

Hey mate, managed to get this sorted. Wasn't actually anything to do with the share. When I clicked into mytvseries/movingpictures/music it would try to load. I could then still scroll down and when I hit the news option everything would magically load. Strange.

Couldn't find a news plugin but I played around and removed all the plugins I didn't need and everything now works.

News = either RSS or infoservice plugin, would be interesting to know which one, so we can find a fix, because it won't be just you that's affected.
