Not a single issue in windows log, this is what is making it so hard to pin point, I am not even sure if this one is a client issue or a storage pc issue, like I said what makes it totally weird is that access to the storage PC is totally blocked for this specific client and ONLY when the importer just accessed the shares, the only thing working at that point is pinging the storage PC, that one will succeed. Meanwhile on a totally different PC I can access same files/folders just fine, so this indicates that access is restricted to this specific PC, this or, this specific PC is running low on some resources. Another interesting point is that if I unplug the LAN cable and wait approx. 1 minute and then plug it back in then I can open the folders with the same instance of importer that was previously giving me trouble, hence the idea of a switch replacement which didn't help.

It is extremely strange and I would normally try to troubleshoot it myself but as u can see I am running out of ideas, I will try ur registry suggestion and report back.

    EnableConnectionRateLimiting didn't solve it :(

Otherwise on the server examine: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares

It should contain all the shares.

But you still didn't answer my original question, why on earth can't you reduce the 63 shares down to a lower number?

I am going to limit it to 3 shared folder now and try to import the collection, could you please let me know how to prevent IMDB+ script from auto approving matches? I did reduced the slider to the lowest setting in Moving Pictures and got IMDB+ as my only available script I also disable the "Auto Approve on Alternate Ttitles" option. It is still auto approving most of the movies, one of the reasons I am importing sub folders one by one instead of importing the root folder is cause I want to evaluate the imports before they are massively auto approved.

I wrote IMDb+ for that exact purpose, to auto-match as much as possible and remove the burden of having to manually approve.

But all of that is controlled by MocPic in the end. Did you try going into the advanced settings to look at all the auto-approve settings?

Well first let me tell you that, since limiting my shared folders to 3 and importing the root directories rather than the su bfolders, the issue is resolved. So it is indeed a resource/security threshold that the importer is triggering.

Regarding the Auto Approval, i tried all the settings and it is still auto approving, having said that i am now considering using .nfo files in movie folders with imdb links and forcing auto approval this way. I can be sure that it will never auto approve with the wrong match.

My question to u is if u got any idea as to how the imdb link should look within .nfo. I will get some time later today to test it myself but in case u already know that would save me some time.

    There are two ways.

Moving-Pictures looks for IMDb tt-ID and *only* uses that (can be part of folder, filename, or a filename.nfo text file), and passes this ID over to IMDb+ in which I skip the IMDb search and go straight for the details page.

Or use the XBMC compatible NFO scraper to import all the text data (artwork is stored separate), and you can use the MovPicNFO tool to generate those if needed.

    Thanx Ron,

I manually created filename.nfo file for each movie and added an imdb link to each .nfo, then i forced movingpictures into looking for .nfo files and auto approve based on it. This way ur script is directly finding the match based on imdb tt and it works great.

An issue that remains is of course rotten tomatoes scores which is not working and i am unable to get an api key from them, i think i will manually add scores, i wonder is there a way of adding the score to the .nfo file and forcing ur plugin of reading it? This would make potential future imports much easier since i am creating .nfo files anyway atm.

Once all movies are imported, export proper full XBMC NFO compatible files with MovPicNFO, and then you can adjust all the NFOs with whatever rating you want, and then do a very quick re-import. You can even do it off-line, because the XBMC NFO scraper (you'll have to make it the primary scraper obviously) will get all the data from the NFO file.
