As I've stated: it doesn't happen in any other app. It didn't happen in MP before the tearing fix...

Sure, it depends on how the graphics controller is set up.

Ehh did you read the post? The new MP build fixes the problem.

Besides I didn't change my graphics driver, card, decoder nor their settings.

What I tried to say there was that this depends on how the graphics controller is set up and MP probably messed those settings up.
But, could be something completely different as well.

Sorry, I assumed you were insisting on the error being nVidias fault.

Well in any case, works like a charm now except that when viewing TV I loose contact with the hardware (DVB card that is, I get the windows sound that you get when you unplug hardware) while watching TV, especially when changing channels.

My setup is very similar:
Athlon 64 3800+
1.5 GB PC3200
Gainward GeForce 7800 GTX Golden Sample (81.94 driver, 185 PureVideo)
ASUS A8N-E (1010.003 BIOS, 6.70 driver)
Windows XP MCE2005 with all updates
FireDTV-C/CI (latest beta drivers and firmware)

btw using mediaportal-cvs-11-19-2005--14-06.rar the strange "flicker" (repeating frame or whatever one should call it) is back.

solved my tearing problem

Flipp answered in a different post:
try Configuration->General->use Exclusive DirectX mode. This should prevent tearing in fullscreen

It solved my tearing problem!

I also had the flashing issue. It occures while moving the mousse in tv mode. It was gone when i selected in video renderer, video mixing renderer 9 , in tv settings from the running mediaportal menu.

hope it solves your problems
